I used to sup Robbies Mild in the 1980's. It was a light mild and not much different than their bitter - but tuppence cheaper!

Don't mind a pint of mixed when I'm back home. Makes me feel old and worldly.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

We have, where I live, one of the finest real ale houses in the country. It also serves some amazing pub grub. And just now two tosspots have walked in and asked for a pint of Carling and a bottle of Bulmers, with two packets of bacon fries, and they were about to become incensed (until they saw all the other customers staring at them like they were total wankers) when told that none of those things existed on the premises, and that alternatives need not be searched for as they, the customers, obviously fell outside of the normal clientele boundaries.
They then asked where they could find a proper pub
. :hang:  , tw*ts

I did wonder if these strangers were advised to 'stick tert' road' by the locals ahead of their search for a proper pub?! :D

Earl Grey IPA by Marble Brewery is lovely stuff, just sampled a coupe in the V&A in Horwich. 6.8% but you wouldn't know, goes down very nicely .

You've been there then? Landlord's a bit offish, but once you've been resident in the village for thirty odd years he might nod a welcome.

Am I correct in thinking that Aussies refer to the Outdoor Licence as being the 'Bottlo', 2399? :D

7.4%. That is strong for an ale.

Every time I have tried a strong beer it has tasted crap. I may give it a go on your recommendation.

There's a Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell. doesnt have the same vibe tho, no dart boards, five pointed stars or owt - and they probably serve hot soup!
