Well, I'd never have thought this ...

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

I see your point Bobo, but those women who have moved on don't have to come forward, and I'm sure there will be many who won't. If anyone does though, then their case has to be investigated, so i suppose it takes as long as it takes. I doubt the authorities are looking for stuff to investigate.

I think "closure" is a massively overused and misunderstood word... I'm not convinced there really is any such thing - or if there is, that is is anywhere near as precious as people think it might be...

A good number of people I know who've had traumatic experiences take the advice to "put it in a box" . I think some of this handwriting will be in danger of tipping these boxes over. I honestly feel that, by now, it's in danger of doing considerably more harm than good and is verging on the mawkish.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Hear, hear, thebish!

"Closure" is a nonsense word seemingly used by those who cannot find another. There is no other as there is no relief to grief to be obtained by magically finding the reason for a loved one's death or, in these cases, abuse. Whatever the result, whether it be via vengeance or justice being served, it doesn't change the past. Don't get me wrong as I'm sure that whilst finding and punishing a perpetrator would bring a significant portion of satisfaction to a victim or their relatives it will never, ever, erase the emotional effects produced by that person's actions.

14 years for mother A

17 years for mother B

35 years for Watkins

EDIT: 29 years for Watkins, with an extended licence period of six years

Earlier today Cardiff Crown Court heard how the former Lostprophets lead singer had said in a phone call after admitting the charges: "It was mega lolz. I don't know what everyone is getting freaked out about."

Just read the sentencing remarks...i implore you not to do the same. They don't spare detail.

They are proper sentences I suppose. Though if freed after 50% you have to wonder about the mothers.

I can't understand what would make Watkins do what he did. Utterly beyond me.

For mothers to offer their kids up for the abuse is even more beyond my ken.

That's why i never use a certain photographic shop as old Max did the same to a 5 year old kid with the consent of the mother. A little known fact.

Why's he been named, but the women haven't?

because naming the women would potentially break the anonymity that the children have... that's the reason given, anyway...

I wish I had read this earlier. Beyond words what I have just read. I was sat shaking in anger. The guy will never be safe in society and should never be released. I hope he gets destroyed in prison in the longest most painful way possible.
