TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

I am truly sorry to hear about your news.

As some of the board members on here know I have some experience with a seriously ill child. We were in and out of G.O.S.H. for three years.

If you feel like talking to someone who has been in a similair position but detatched enough to be objective (even if it's nust to have a moan) I would be happy to chat.

Send me a p.m. if you want my details.
Thanks. I'm fine at the moment, as he's home. Will probably be different once he goes in, next Saturday, as that's the start of it all.

Again, thank you.
No problem. Give me a shout.

Another update.

The girl has agreed to the 3rd of December. However, there may be another 10/10 match. We should know on Monday, this one may be able to do it sooner. Again, all work done by Anthony Nolan, working so hard to get this sorted.

Fingers crossed.

I'm on the Anthony Nolan register. I've only been contacted once in 20 years to say I MAY be a match. Then to be told no.

I would not let ANYTHING stand in the way of my donating.

Good luck AG.

As ever we don't know the full circumstances but really, I can't think of many reasons someone else would be "too busy".

Either way, another month ... hopefully not critical ... and meanwhile another donor is found as well which is great news.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I mean it. Without wishing to sound too melodramatic I know what it's like to lose a child through a serious illness. There's no way I would jeopardise another child's life for the sake of a schedule.

We don't know any of the circumstances surrounding the reason as to why she's delayed. If this other fella is a 10/10 match and can get him sooner we go with him. They really want to get it sorted as quick, due to the severity of his condition.

I tend to agree but there COULD be circumstances. What is she's getting married next week or there's other illness in her family ? It is an odd one but we can't judge without knowing everything.

The main thing is that there's progress which is brilliant.

Freddie had to be admitted last night. He bumped his gum around half five and it wouldn't stop bleeding. Had to have a platelet transfusion. He's home now.

Donor update. They have found another donor, 32 year old male. He is allowing them to take marrow direct from his thigh bone (what our consultant wants). Should be in by the end of the month.

We are all pulling for him and thumbs up to the donor.

We've had some testing times with the health of Miss BP of late, but nothing to compare to what you guys must be going through at the moment. I can't even begin to contemplate your position. All that I can do is encourage you to stay strong for your family and wish you all the very best of luck. Please keep us all informed of Freddie's progress!

Ditto that. Fair play to the donor too although I was under the impression they always took from the thigh bone.

Best of luck to young Freddie.
