Nope, one of their entourage, I was at work.TANGODANCER wrote:I would imagine Grunto took the picture and the two in the sweaters are part of the cast of the T.V Soap opera, Coronation StreetMontreal Wanderer wrote:Indeed, but although Freddie's Mum is there I can't see Grunto (unless he dyed his hair darker). So are the two in red sweaters part of the family or random hospital elves?TANGODANCER wrote:Now there's a grand souvenier for Freddie's album.
This only happened as he's in semi isolation. He can venture out into the corridor.

Another wife FB update:
Lost for words this morning, Freddie is doing so well the doctors have said he might be able to go home for Christmas, got to get through a few hurdles first but all signs are good. He's having a blood transfusion today which they hope will be his last one

Fantastic news. I've just chucked a few quid into your pot as well, mate. Hope you're going to bring Freddie along to meet us all one day.

I always go to this thread first in the morning and now it just keeps getting better. Keep it up, Freddie.

That's fantastic news. If it happens make sure the hospital pharmacy are kept informed. One of our Christmases was nearly scuppered because the Doctor who discharged our son didn't write up the meds. required for the trip home. Fantastic efforts from the ward staff made sure we got home, but it was tight.
Best of luck to you all.

Blimey Grunt. That's some progress. Crossing everything for you all !
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It'll be a while before we can do anything like that but it'll be great to.Bruce Rioja wrote:That'd be brilliant, mate. Lunch - match, all of that business all on me. I look forward to it. Thanks everyone else. It's taken us by surprise to say the least, pretty much dropped on us. Not complaining though.

Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.
Wife's FB update:
Day +18 post BMT Freddie is still doing well, they are reducing his IV nutrition and replacing it with his nasogastric tube (NG) so they can give him a kind of milkshake that replaces his food. He still doesn't feel like eating so this will enable him to eventually go home. Also he's on so much medication this can go down the tube as well. His blood counts are slowly improving every day signs that the transplant has worked. There is a test we are waiting for the results of which will tell us the success of the transplant. But he is on his feet more each day as he is freed off his lines but tires out easily. I can't tell you how proud I am of him as I would have been broken by now with all of the things he's had to endure and through all this he's had NO pain relief. As you can see from the picture he's still happy and smiling and not letting anything get him down
