The Wanderer; A Thesaurus
Being exiled in the south there are plenty of words I miss, and I enjoy telling the saffa I sit with theses... she tends to attempt to uyse them in conversations and get them wrong but thats a different thread... anyway, any words you like/feel should be used more often.
My word of the day is Scran...

This is a formal written warning. Any further use of the words 'banter' or 'craic' will end like this:89bwfc89 wrote:I like the words banter and craic.

Funny, this morning the dog was yelping and I said, "Hoi, give over". Give over? What does that actually mean?

this morning, on the phone, I suggested to a women (from whom I needed to extract some old bank statements relating to some property the church used to own) that she "have a firk in her drawers".. this was accompanied by snorts of disbelief from the suvverners in the office...

Scran was a word originating in the navy. The best bit about it is that it has associated word play, for example knife and forks are port and starboard scran spannersDavid Lee's Hair wrote: My word of the day is Scran...

I always thought of scran being a scouse word and therefore to be avoided.
Re: The Wanderer; A Thesaurus
Haha give over....normally said so quickly it comes out as one word? Sounds so right but written down it's just weird!
