Hotel near Atherton needed

Post by domino_sm » Wed Jun 11, 2014 3:49 pm

Hi people, looking for a stop over 1 night hotel to visit a mate in Atherton. Nearest I can find on websites is Premier Inn near the stadium for reasonable money, any other ideas?

The Greyhound on the East Lancs/Warrington Road would be closer, or the one at the Leigh Sports City also is closer. There are some economy ones in Worsley too.

Cheers for that, just checked, it's only a mile shorter distance according to the AA route planner but nearly double the price of Prem Inn.

It's fine, best of luck. I'm amazed at the distance comparison.

.... & yes, Bish. Quite correct. But it's not like I don't see where the poor people stay !!

Mercury hotel in Westhoughton is probably closest. Think a bit basic but not dirty. Also have OAPs doing karaoke some nights. Wouldn't go for my holidays I don't think but may suit your requirements. Should probably upload room photos at this point!

We had to put diversion signs up near the Novotel, straight onto the Motorway, in case someone drove past the Marriott in their Skoda. Could've been fatal for some residents.

There is always the Park Inn at Leigh Sports Village, next to the Rugby ground. It looks like Friday nights are the cheapest (£45-55).

Park Inn is very nice. We've run training events there and it's a step up from Travelodge territory. The Daisy Hill Hotel is a pub ten minutes by taxi away with basic rooms for around 30 quid. The Atherton Arms in the twon centre used to do rooms I think, you could always ring and ask.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.
