Lee's teasing us again

Post by Montreal Wanderer » Thu Aug 07, 2014 9:00 pm

Westwood lays down the score to beat in the PGA - six under with many still on the course. Started with a double bogey too.

Judging from the replies here I guess no one was watching the last major - the PGA. However, over the weekend I saw some of the best golf shots I have ever seen. Very exciting finish. With darkness descending the last two pairs played the 18th almost as a foursome. Rory won by a stroke over Leftie Phil, while Lee choked on the back nine on Saturday. Check out Rory's second on the par 5 tenth - amazing.

It's not that nobody's interested Monty. Not got Sky, so no TV coverage for me, but great to see him do it. Jack Nicholas reckons Rory's going to be the best ever.

Great to see him drop back then dig in and guts it out too. Proves he's not just capable of winning when all goes his way.

Oh, that's a shame. The PGA interactive leaderboard will show a lot of the key shots for each player by clicking on the camera icon. If you haven't seen it, check Wiesberger's approach on 17 on Saturday

Mcilroys 2nd to par 5 10th was the best golf shot ive seen in a long time
Most excited ive got watching golf since nicklaus v watson duel in the sun
Just thought id share .
Mcilroy has to now be a candidate for best british golfer ever

Didnt think westwood choked- just his puuting let him down again.
Fowler bottled it though

It was indeed a heck of a finish. As for best ever - I'm not sure one can compare eras. I doubt Rory could have made that shot on the tenth with the club and ball Young Tom Morris (who won four consecutive opens before he was 21) used.

Well modern era then
If rory completes the set with a green jacket which if his putting holds up is surely a formality then there can be no dispute
