The Liberal Democrats have garnered fewer votes than either UKIP or the Greens in the first result of the night.

The Tories got fewer than UKIP! Lib Dems lost their deposit.

Clegg must be sh*tting himself.

admitting you vote ukip to pollsters can get your windows bricked.

looks like russell's revolution will have to happen.

not sure what'll happen when they lose that too.

walking around with brand's head on a stick might make good tv though.

Based on 3 results, Labour are clearly going to win 650 seats.

Looking like a poor night for Labour overall and a disaster for the LibDems - I could see Paddy Ashdown eating his hat later. Big swing to UKIP, SNP not at the races in Sunderland - Hoboh can breath easily.

Cons have more target seats from Lib Dem (twice as many) than Labour which should help them. Looking like a good night for SNP, which also dents Labour...

I am surprised that Cons don't look like having a full majority, interesting that UKIP are in second to Labour in the North - wouldn't surprise me that the same happened Cons/UKIP in Tory seats, but similarly not enough to actually win the seats from the incumbent. 2020 could be interesting.

Looks like Danny Alexander gone. If Clegg goes too but the Lib Dems do slightly better than expected taking some off the Tories it might be OK.

That or I'm drunk.

This is starting to feel like a life lesson.

The lesson is something like "don't get your hopes up". And "them again".

Couldn't see a Lab win. Not at any point. I could have seen a Con win, but I have to say, given the crash, the Iraq war, the "sustained recovery", Ed Milliband and a second go at it after 2010, I'm surprised that they don't look like getting a majority, even with the Exit Poll prediction...

I expected Tories to be the biggest party but Labour and the SNP to have enough.

Interesting that it looks like Danny Alexander has gone. If Clegg goes too, but the Lib Dems hold on in the South West then you suddenly have the Tories down, and the Lib Dems with proper Lib Dems in charge. *Clutches and misses straw*.

I hope you're right...won't take the exit poll being massively wrong to tip the balance.

Cable gone ....that's nice. Smug tit.
Balls in trouble ... that would be a true 'Portillo' moment'.
Galloway gone ... good.
Farage ... signs are negative but we have to wait.
Shame about Scotland.
Miliband ... always the wrong brother and now proven to be the case.

Bolton West Tory once more.

Really pleased for Bish to have a Tory MP.

Big questions on the validity of Opinion Polling.
