And now here is Dave's thanks to you all for voting him back in, just don't fall sick or lose your job to a zero hour European migrant or pray your company doesn't find cheap labour and a factory overseas.

I think all those disappointed people who didn't get the result they wanted should, instead of attacking those who voted, be having a go at the near 16 MILLION who didn't.

Agreed, I've channeled my electoral disappointments into sending of an application to volunteer at a food bank.Gary the Enfield wrote:I think all those disappointed people who didn't get the result they wanted should, instead of attacking those who voted, be having a go at the near 16 MILLION who didn't.

Get the fecking water cannons out. Most of them look like they could do with a wash.
I see that Galloway's accepting defeat gracefully as well.

it's only not a lie if you accept that he has become a slippery politician like all the rest... problem is, he presented himself and his promise to step down as an honest man talking plainly and simply.Hoboh wrote:You can call him whatever you like bish.thebish wrote:so - slippery waffle aside... can I call him yesterday's man? and - what do you make of his promise to step down - only for us to find out that he didn't really mean it - and that he meant taking a holiday? isn't that simply a lie? wouldn't you be calling that a disgraceful lie had it been someone from another party?
I said what I thought f his decision to step down.
He has stepped down, I don't recall him saying he would never ever again wish to be considered.
How can it be a lie? he has stepped down.
just to remind you - this is what he actually said...
see that? It is frankly just not credible for me to continue to lead the party without a Westminster seat - so I will step down."The consequences of me failing to secure a seat for myself in the [House of] Commons would be significant for both myself and the party. It is frankly just not credible for me to continue to lead the party without a Westminster seat ... If I fail to win South Thanet, it is curtains for me. I will have to step down."
How is it that you are so easily squaring that with him trying to become leader (without a Westminster seat) in 3 months time?

Farage is undoubtedly a skilled politician and on the whole handled the flak quite well I thought. Without him I can only see UKIP floundering.
"Get your feet off the furniture you Oxbridge tw*t. You're not on a feckin punt now you know"
Re: Politics, The Election May 2015
Well I think Farage was expecting there to be other UKIPers in parliament, and the one who is doesn't seem like leadership material, so I'd say a rethink is quite reasonable. With the Tories promising a referendum, I think UKIP will just fade away quietly from now on. Quite a few will slink back to the tories, job done.thebish wrote:it's only not a lie if you accept that he has become a slippery politician like all the rest... problem is, he presented himself and his promise to step down as an honest man talking plainly and simply.Hoboh wrote:You can call him whatever you like bish.thebish wrote:so - slippery waffle aside... can I call him yesterday's man? and - what do you make of his promise to step down - only for us to find out that he didn't really mean it - and that he meant taking a holiday? isn't that simply a lie? wouldn't you be calling that a disgraceful lie had it been someone from another party?

Who is Katie Hopkins?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

She's an Ex Apprentice and Big Brother 'contestant' who has developed into an acidic, acerbic media personality. Unpleasant, Controversial, inflammatory media whore.

Ooh goodie, is it my turn next then?
Anyway, I don't really watch much telly or read newspapers much anymore, so these cultural references largely whoosh way over my head.
I didn't even know there'd been protests until it was mentioned on here. The outcome of which seems to be that yon Katie is going to get twatted by Charlotte Church (I know who she is).

I saw that today. Unfortunately yesterday it was revealed that Katie has 'potentially fatal epilepsy' so anyone threatening to punch her in the head may not quite get the satisfaction they crave.

That's actually quite funny. He should of course refuse to accept, the non-acceptance of his resignationBruce Rioja wrote:Farridge has had his resignation refused, apparently.
