Windies Cricket

Post by thebish » Mon Apr 13, 2015 9:51 am

the cricket's back on...

plenty to talk about (other than the rather dangerous assumption that we should beat them without breaking sweat)

Trott's return
Peterson scoring 170-odd on his county return (OK - against a uni side!)
potential reorganisation of english cricket
will cook start scoring again..

anyway - all kicks off this arvo...

Get Pietersen back in. This is like when 4ucknugget McClaren dropped Beckham.

Good recovery at 202-3 with Bell and Root currently in the middle, on 80 and 83 respectively. The Windies not proving to be the stiffest opposition currently, it has to be said..

Which soon became 211-4. Still, a decent recovery from 34-3

so - all out for 399 - mustn't grumble as we were once 34-3 - but last 5 wickets for 58 runs? meh!

He has, in terms of wickets taken and well done to him for that. However, what I'd love to know is how many balls it took Botham vs how many it took Anderson, and the average runs per wicket of each.

dunno about that - I assumed he'd played a shedload more tests - but not so...

anderson has done it in 100 tests as opposed to Botham doing it in 102...

windies clinging on stubbornly here...

we lack the guile?/variety? to blow sides away when we need to...

just 30 or so overs to go and 4 wickets to snag...

299 all out for them. A decent-ish recovery from 129 - 5.

Cook currently on 38, Trott on 34. Come on you pair of pillocks, a ton off of each of you. :)

373-6 is pretty good going. Joe Root is one gem.
