Aye. The EEC. Not this feck in shambles.thebish wrote:bobo the clown wrote:Maybe the vote cast should be diminished by a factor relating to your age. So, say, a 50 year old vote is only worth 50%, a 75 yr old's worth 25% etc.
That way the yoofs will get full value of their vote.
Thank God experience counts for nowt.
them owd feckers shouldn't get a vote - they've already had theirs - they voted to join!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Aye, wasn't it that place where fruit and veg had to be a correct size and weight and threw mountains of butter and stuff away despite folk starving?

or - tesco, sainsbury, Asda, Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons!
Dave's reform package didn't seem to have any interest AT ALL in agricultural policy / fishery reform - or in any issues of social welfare beyond a thinly disguised/not disguised at all political posturing about immigrant benefits...

Re: Brexit or Britin
At least outside the EU we can set our own fisheries/agricultural/social welfare policies. I quite like the idea that in return for benefits welfare claimants must patrol the north sea or grade spuds.

Re: Brexit or Britin
Here's my prediction:
"In" starts with a massive poll lead. Over time, that narrows until shortly before the referendum when it looks neck and neck. There might even be a poll a few days before that claims "out" is slightly in the lead. Then "in" wins by about 10%.
See: every referendum ever. You need a 10% lead on average to win a referendum against the status quo. Currently "in" is 15% in front, 18% if you exclude"don't knows".

^^ I'd generally agree.Prufrock wrote:Here's my prediction:

The indeterminable bit us "something happens" ... however irrelevant in the realms of things but something which can be blamed of "them foreign types".
A terrorist event, not even necessarily in the UK. A kick-off in Calais. A continuing & rising stream of migrant coming through Greece or the Balkans.
You are probably correct, but you're just not sure, are you ?

Re: Brexit or Britin
I'm not *sure*, of course not. Extremely confident though. I think it would take several of those sort of events and some.
I hate to say it, but there's almost no chance Cameron loses this IMO. It's a v complicated issue, one that lots of people know matters but won't have the inclination or time to follow completely (I'm v interested in politics and I'M bored of this already). And people trust Cameron. And those who don't are people who have already made their minds up anyway.

I think there are a lot of people waiting to be convinced either way. We know there will be lots of fear from both sides and lots of it'll be reet. There wont be much decent information and come the day folk will still be on the fence. Most on the fence will probably go with the status quo.
I can only hope Farrage and Boris et al fcuk off never to be heard of again...

And that smarmarse Galloway. He makes me vomit. He's one of the reasons I might vote to stay in, just because he's in the exit camp.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I think there are a lot of people waiting to be convinced either way.
