But the point of that quote is supposed to be how out of touch she is. They're starving? Well let them just eat cake (brioche, en fait).Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 7:07 pmYou don't find any "Let them eat biscuits" type famous quotations. Cake is clearly an established necessity of the proletariat.Prufrock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 6:56 pmIt's a cake for VAT purposes. Goes hard when it goes off whereas a biscuit goes soft was one of the factors. They even took don't along for the judges.
Though one think that's always baffled me is it being a cake meant it wasn't VATable, as cakes are not luxuries where as biscuits are. Wtf?! Decadent bastards.
Though that brings me on to another thing I don't get. Why does every fecking burger come on a brioche bun?! I don't want sweet, I'm having a burger. Plain bread please. Sesame I'll certainly allow, if you're American, not if your doing a football tournament on the local rec.

No, it’s because AT realised he had put it in the wrong section. It’s back where it belongs with all the clubs and penguins now.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 7:39 pmThey’re Scottish. January
1. Kitkat Chunky
2. Dairy Milk £1 bar
3. Galaxy Milk £1 bar
4. Frys Peppermint Cream
5. Aero Mint £1 bar
And just below the dotted line, Yorkie Milk Chocolate.
February
1. Dairy Milk £1 bar
2. Yorkie Milk Chocolate
3. Frys peppermint Cream
4. Aero Mint £1 bar
5. Galaxy Milk Std bar
And in 6th place Galaxy Milk £1 bar
Clearly everyone was skint in February as sales were down over 50% on January.
Non-chocolate related news for Irn Bru fans: Irn Bru 1901 is back this week and is here to stay.
Interesting that Kit Kat chunky was top of the hit parade in January, then dropped like a stone. Were they on offer?

I have them on a permanent 2 for a quid offer. They do like to chop and change just to feck me off. Re: Top 5 of all time...
Not being a cafe latte sort of bloke (I'm an unashamed life-time tea drinker, although I don't have milk anymore, ever since I mis-read the "Best by" date on a supermarket bottle and made myself ill) just tea and two big sugars) my biscuit choices are very simple: McVitie's Digestive,(staple diet) Fig Biscuits and Garibaldi Biscuits. My daughters bring me all sorts of Belgian chocolate selections, but they're a bit wasted on me)

My game, my rules. Not that anyone’s playing anymore with my new ‘chocolate biscuit’ category, apart from Tango and he’s jumped the gun and totally bypassed category 2 and kickstarted category 3 ‘biscuits I would have with a cuppa’ - with digestives no less
