Absolutely amazed nobody gave Mars Bars a mention? Penguin, yes, they were horrible, but Mars Bars? And Double Deckers? Oh, and those Chocolate Marzipan bars they cut off in chunks in Blackpool and places.
Edit: Just seen Double Deckers....Apology.

Re: Top 5 of all time...
I was surprised Mars bars weren’t mentioned. Another one that doubles up as a decent icecream bar too. Also partial to a Milky Way (or two).TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 11:25 amAbsolutely amazed nobody gave Mars Bars a mention? Penguin, yes, they were horrible, but Mars Bars? Penguins are DEFINITELY in the chocolate biscuit category.

Re: Top 5 of all time...
Hmmm...given the original post asked for bars but listed non-bars...
1) Them Lindt red cholate ball things - amazing.
2) Mini eggs - (but not recent ones with the horrible soft and not crunchy shells - why have they changed this?).
3) Drifter
4) Toblerone
5) Snickers
5 - only when hungover
1 and 4 - only at Christmas
3 - can't remember last time I had one.
2 - why have they spoiled them?
Can't say I eat much of the stuff but yeah I'd go with those.

Re: Top 5 of all time...
If we do something similar re The Biscuit World Cup, then that's just a race for runner-up behind Border's Dark Chocolate Gingers, of which I've just had three with a pint of coffee

Re: Top 5 of all time...
If we're on about bars of chocolate, that Tony's chocoloney stuff is un-fecking-real, especially the orange (coloured packet, not flavoured), salted caramel one.
I put off touching it for ages as I can't bear wacky advertising but I got some free and omg.
Whoever mentioned snowflakes...they were phenomenal.
I'd go:
1) KitKat chunky. It's a bar. And the best.
2) Twirl, as above, a flake without the need.
3) Wispa - absolute classic, and superior to the aero imho
4) Lion bar - superb
5) white chocolate Kinder Bueno. Lovely stuff.
I like a chocolate orange but orange flavoured chocolate bars (club et al) are the work of the devil. Not only are they disgusting, they manage to taint anything else you keep in the same box.

Re: Top 5 of all time...
Cadbury brought out a plain dark chocolate bar not long back that's worth a mention. Nothing fancy, just plain decent chocolate. (Pity they don't make chocolate limes in bars, that would be the real deal).

Chocolate oranges - whilst not bars - are worthy of inclusion if only for the lovely middle piece that comes out as you eat through the segments....
And yes, a Wispa far better than Aero. Probably due to it being the Cadburys version (I know Cadburys chocolate is a bit cheap and nasty, but its bloody good......)

Aye, it's a shame I can't get them in the tub of bites format like the milk ones. Having a tub of them to hand that you can just keep popping them in your mouth, whilst dangerous is bloody goodBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 9:14 amI've recently been introduced to the Dark Chocolate Caramel Wafer. What a bloody triumph that is.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 11:41 pmNope. You need to to know your Tunnocks Tea Cakes from your Caramel Wafers and your Islay from your Speyside round here. That and understanding gibberish

Re: Top 5 of all time...
On the tail-end of things, absolutely can't stand: Penguin (sickly), Kit Kat (not a patch on Terry's chocolate wafers) Toblerone (vile stuff) most white chocolates, creme eggs (pointless) anything with nuts in it....

Absolutely. First discovered that stuff at Schiphol a few years ago and always buy about a six of the big bars every time I go through.
Imagine my delight to see that it's now stocked by the redoubtable EH Booths

We will crack on with biscuits from the barrel you have with a hot drink after the next category which is biscuits your mum would put in your pack lunch seeing as everyone’s trying to include Kit Kat’s in the wrong category!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 1:32 pmIf we do something similar re The Biscuit World Cup, then that's just a race for runner-up behind Border's Dark Chocolate Gingers, of which I've just had three with a pint of coffee
