Cos I might be at 30000 feet tomorrow I have to commend everyone on their attempts but the winner has to be Dujon for his incisive wit and understanding of the whole ethos of amusing reparte (without the accent). Though I'm surprised very few, if any, noticed that the players were wearing balls as shorts so I hope you'll all buck up and imagine Birmingham on Monday, although they'll have shorts but no balls. Well done John..Well almost.
Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.
Should that not read 'train-in' malarky?blurred wrote:Not sure I like this new 'training' malarky
(We come 'steaming' in leaving the opposition players standing 'station-ary' presumably?).
Am I on the right lines?

You got my points...
Basically, though, I reckon you're getting ideas above your station, and you've reached the end of the line matey...
Well I hope the train isn't Thomas the Tank Enginee, otherwise it would mean that big Sam is the Fat Controller!blurred wrote:Well donesluffy wrote:Should that not read 'train-in' malarky?blurred wrote:Not sure I like this new 'training' malarky

With our new signing we'll soon be back on track, says boss.
In a press conference earlier today the Cartoon United manager said that their new signing 'signals the start of a new era'. The player, signed from Lokomotiv Moscow and talking through an interpreter was said to be 'chuffed' and couldn't wait to help get his new team's performances back on the rails. Their recent performances have been poor, with players frequently running out of steam against some electric performances from opposition sides, but the manager denied that the team don't train hard enough. Cartoon United's captain was siding with his boss 'We've waited for this new signing for quite a while, with no real reason why there was a delay. Now we're just pleased to have him here and hope everyone can get on board with him and make him feel at home. From what I've seen of him, the lad's got a good engine and certainly pulls his weight'.
