Everything you wanted to know about Serbia and Montenegro but were afraid to ask, from Winter Hill White in his article debut:

Nice one, I knew about Kezman and Vidic but I didn't know some of those others played for them too.
Their group is very tough but you may be right about sneaking draws.

Arkan built himself the kitschiest (sp?) house you could ever imagine right next to the Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) stadium. It had a fantastic view of the pitch. Until the stadium authorities decided to build a roof over that part of the stadium. Valuing their life, the stadium authorities conveniently waited until Arkan had been assassinated before going ahead with their view-blocking roof. Arkan's widow, Ceca - a big turbofolk star - a hugely popular genre of musice in Serbia - I don't know why, it's fecking awful - still lives in the house. Along, it appears, with several thousand scary-looking "security personnel", who approach and follow you, should you spend more than a minute or two outside.50sQuiff wrote:Superb debut WHW, really interesting stuff. Did you watch the episode of Frontline Football featuring Serbia? Arkan and all the usual suspects featured heavily.
