SUN MUSIC.
You got a song that always makes you feel good when you hear it in the sunshine? Mine goes back a long way (Loving Spoonful 1966) "What a day for a daydream". Even now it still makes me feel good. Mungo Jerry's "In the Summertime" is another. What have you got?

My pick is a remix of The Memory by Roy Ayers that Groove Armada did a couple of years back. It just about strikes all the chords a summer tune could hope to.
Everybody Loves The Sunshine by the man Roy himself is also worthy of mention.
None of these tunes is having the desired effect here at my desk however I can just about see the sunshine reflected from the wall across the road.

Here's a summery double CD

It's so summery, it'll have you reaching for a tube of Wasp-Eze.

Mine is one which reminds of summer rather than one I'd particularly delight in on a summer's day. It was an arrangement of Maria Elena. The artist's name escapes me. Nevertheless it was a guitar piece (naturally, I suppose) superimposed on the sounds of waves washing onto a beach. The guitar was faded from time to time - the effect being of listening to the piece from afar, as though the musician was on the opposite side of a bay. I haven't heard it in years, but it always put me in mind of me sitting quietly on a promenade, supping a pleasant white wine, on a calm and balmy summer eve.

Sounds a bit "Manuel and his music of the Mountains" Dujon. Marie Elena has been done by just about everyone who can play an instrument. Gypsy Kings did a terrific job of "Viento del Arena" using a wind blowing across the desert effect. Made the music fade and return, much the same as yours I suppose.Dujon wrote:Mine is one which reminds of summer rather than one I'd particularly delight in on a summer's day. Just throwing in another couple of feel-good music choices:
Dean Martin has a real sunshine voice for me. What better than sitting in the garden in the evening with a glass of wine as he gives out with "That's Amore" and "Evening in Roma" "Watching all the girls go by" and "Sway"? The again, Old Blue eyes can give you "Come Fly With Me" and "Summer Wind". Sheer pleasure.
Ah, don't know what's got into me, must be all this sunshine.

I'd love to tell you all what tickles my pickle on a summery day, but they're all so bleedin' obscure I don't think I'll bother... some of the less obscure ones are....
'Who Loves The Sun?' by Velvet Underground
'Magic Carpet Ride' by Steppenwolf
Village Green Preservation Society' by The Kinks
'A Horse With No Name' by America
Absolutely anything by Lee Hazelwood
'Do You Believe in Magic' by The Lovin' Spoonful'
Absolutely anything by Lambchop
Any Country music from about 1930...
..also, a bit too popular for me, but I'm suprised that 'Here Comes The Sun' by The Beatles hasn't been mentioned!
