The good news, positivity thread...

Post by blurred » Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:21 pm

There's far too much bad news in the world these days, so I reckon we should have a repository of all things good and happy to shield us from the inevitable crap-fest that is the real world.

Good news number 1: My friend's just had a baby the other day (Monday), all is healthy and well, and he's an absolute cracker :D

So yeah, all other good, cheery and downright decent things in here, please :)

Good news number 2: At least Theo Walcott isn't injured. :D

Congrats on your friends baby BTW.

Ooooooooooh great stuff I love good news...

1. I saw wee Markie on Saturday and he is hot and gorgeous the show was wonderful and it was a gret weekend
2. My friends from my uni days came to visit and attend the above show and they are lovely and it's fabby to see them.
3. My netball team got promoted to Div1 after 4 years of Div2 (we've lost every game since, but it's nice to be there).
4. Some folks I met at a netball tournament mailed me today and they are funny.
5. My dad is coming to visit on Friday to help finish my blasted bathroom and I will have everything fitted, tiled and in tip-top working order, including a hot power shower!!!!

Hooooooray...

My bezzy mate ever rang me out of the blue on Friday. We'd pretty much lost touch over the past 20 years after he joined the Para's and our lives took different courses. Anyway, he rang to say that he's being based back up here for his final two years and is moving to Howfen. I feel a wee drinky coming on.

I spent all day on the lash at England v Sri Lanka yesterday and then watched the England game at a Pub near the Oval, then carried on drinking until the wee small hours and have woken up with NO hangover.

Aren't livers brilliant! :D

Having had quite a few of my brothers para mates stay at mine in the past (my brother's wife wouldn't have them in the house), that could be a mix of good and bad news Bruce. Three of them decided to do a run-out after ordering a pile of food one night. Trouble is, they did it from my local chippy on Halliwell. Never had the nerve to show my face in there again. I moved shortly afterwards.

On the good side, I'm on a weeks holiday. One the bad side, look out of the window. :(

Good good, folks - nice to see some heartwarming stories for a change. If I could get the blooming t'internet to work I'd slap up a picture of the wee charver.

Good news number 2: I finish work for the week today as I'm off on my brother's stag do tomorrow to Prague.

I suppose good news number 3 is that my brother's getting married in August, and I have to do a reading and be an usher and all that sort of stuff too. Should be a good day.

I'd love to add something specific that is positive, but every day is a good day and a chance for something special to happy. It is brilliantly sunny but not humid here today - so everything is great.

My hangover only lasted until 10am, which is pretty good considering the amount I put down last night. And Im looking forward to having a few more in 3 hours or so. :pissed: :D

I think it'll just be the falling over of the usher, most likely.

It's been a good life but unfortunately rather a long one. I'd love to have your youth, kev, so I could make those same mistakes all over again.
