I think lampard would do well alone, just like Gerrard does. However, Gerrard deserves the start. He can bend a game to his will.

As can Lampard, just not, sadly, in an England shirt.

I've never seen Lampard drag Chelsea back from the depths in a big match. Gerrard has stepped up consistently when needed most. (Istanbul, FA Cup)

Lampard has a knack of scoring important goals as opposed to dragging the Russians back from the brink. Lets be honest, they aren't exactly on the brink a great deal, are they?

True, but what has that all-star outfit won? Nothing but domestic titles. I just feel way better about the scousers in the squad than the londoners. Gerrard and Carragher look like they would willingly die for their team. Lampard doesnt seem as arsed.

Gerrard has his moments. In the Champions League winning season he was apathetic toward the club, and it's something I never have and never will forgive him for. Carragher on the other hand would throw himself under a bus for LFC. Which is why we dream of a team of him.

(I'd like to win domestic titles.)

The thing with Gerrard and this "dragging through" ideal though is that Gerrard is way, way way more of a leader than Lampard ever will be, and to be fair to the overweight one, he doesn't really try to be a leader. It's John Terry who drags Russia by the scruff of the neck and heaves them forward.

Leave Lampard in. He'll come good.

I would take Lampard for Bolton. For England I just see Gerrard as the player who deserves the right to operate in space.

I hope you're right Tango, but I've been saying that since the Paraguay game...

I reckon that he will be left in, but if so, I'd have Lennon warmed up and ready to come on from the off!

I'D GIVE UP ON LAMPARD BEFORE I GIVE UP ON BECKHAM. HOW YOU CAN YOU EVEN COMPARE THE 2? BECKHAM MAY NOT BE SETTING THE WORLD ALIGHT, BUT HE HAS SET UP 2 AND SCORED 1. LAMPARD GETS IN THE WAY AND BLASTS OVER THE BAR WITHOUT ADDING ANYTHING TO THE PASSING GAME.

No manager and team selection by TW forum vote would be more effective than Eriksson and McClaren. Fat Frank.. MIA as usual but took several teamates with him this time.
