Lampard has a knack of scoring important goals as opposed to dragging the Russians back from the brink. Lets be honest, they aren't exactly on the brink a great deal, are they?americantrotter wrote:I've never seen Lampard drag Chelsea back from the depths in a big match. Gerrard has stepped up consistently when needed most. (Istanbul, FA Cup)

Gerrard has his moments. In the Champions League winning season he was apathetic toward the club, and it's something I never have and never will forgive him for. Carragher on the other hand would throw himself under a bus for LFC. Which is why we dream of a team of him.
(I'd like to win domestic titles.)
The thing with Gerrard and this "dragging through" ideal though is that Gerrard is way, way way more of a leader than Lampard ever will be, and to be fair to the overweight one, he doesn't really try to be a leader. It's John Terry who drags Russia by the scruff of the neck and heaves them forward.

No, not me, I like him but he is not international quality, (then again nor is Frank)
