Re: What are you playing tonight?
watched a film last night :Cabin Fever 2.... film was shite but opening tune was done by a band called The Cave Singers, with the song "Dancing on our graves", twas a storming tune so I looked into their back catalogue. Thoroughly reccomend them especially if you're into Seasick Steve and the like
also dug out "Troublegum" by Therapy?..... brilliant album

The Pentangle. Their first album. I'll be digging around for more and some Fairport Convention later.

Radio Tarifa - like a mixture of Spanish and North African Arab music... Low voice rumbles, like a 60-a-day habit, saxophone and flamenco guitar... Spanish singing with heavy Andalucian accents... Maybe some Arabic as well, I couldn't be sure... .
I managed about ten minutes of this, but am intrigued and will return to test again...

I remember Radio Tarifa Will, an intruiging mix of music styles. They packed up maybe ten? years ago and one of the group had died. Arabic/Spanish with flamenco influence. Went down well in the more mainstream elements but not with flamenco which tries to stay traditional in the main. Ojos de Brujo (Eyes of the Wizard) were another fusion type group around at that time. Fusion caught on although it cause a lot of controversy in flamencoland. Camaron de la Isla started a new era in flamenco working with Paco de Lucia and brought a younger audience in.

Well it's lasted longer than "the first 10 seconds" - which is where half the posts end up.wigan white wrote:Sugar - Copper Blue. Fantastic album, I could happily listen to this all day long. Bob Mould rocks!!!!
Sounds pretty good. It might even last until side 2. (Not that CD's have side 2 these days)
Surprised I missed this in the 80's, but then again, I'm sure I missed a few months in the 80's.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

This. And the track 'Graceless' is currently running through my head as a rather enjoyable earworm.

This just brightened my day up a bit. Nice bit of high-end accoustic guitar at the end.
