Elvis Costello's raw Blood and Chocolate. Not much chocolate in it.

Not tonight and not my music, but worthy of mention. Waiting for the wife outside Waterstones (opposite M & S ) Yesterday and there was a young bloke there playing a piano accordian to a drumbeat sound backing. He was playing some sort of arabic music and I gave him a couple of bob abd stayed there a while. He was really very good and made my day. Catch him if you're that way on, it's worth it.

After reading somewhere today it was three years this month since Raphael Ravenscroft died, I had to play Jerry Rafferty's Baker Street and give Rafael's great alto sax riffs an airing. Terrific record..

Some old favourites I hadn't listened to in a while, Bloc Party and The Loved Ones, then a bit of Northcote followed by Chris Wollard.

Off work for ten days and chilling out af.*

The whole thing that puts me off of Bloc Party is that the drummer sounds like he's building a 4ucking shed. He has no idea of time signature whatsoever.

 can't say I've ever noticed tbf. Hopefully that's not one that I won't be able to unhear now. If so, thanks a lot.

Gregorian-The Sound of silence. The words will ever be Simon and Garfunkel's, but this version treats them with great respect. Lovely version of a great song.

Ref "The Sound of Silence", an internet friend, then others, recommended this. Very unlike me to promote any heavy metal stuff, but this is very worth a listen. Needs to be heard right through to the end but it's actually very, very good. The band, a German rock band, is "Disturbed" who I'd never even heard of...very different and quite compelling ..Give it a listen:

I remember listening to her a few years ago, will look up on Spotify.

On a slightly different note, Supersuckers. Playing Brudenell in Leeds in a few weeks, looking forward to it. They should be a lot of fun.

Been absolutely hammering "case/lang/veirs" the last few weeks. It's a(n imaginatively named) joint effort from Niko Case, K.D. Lang and Laura Veirs. Well worth checking out of that sort of thing is your bag.

Despite the fxckin mist/drizzle/rain, and it being the SEVENTH of November, currently some tosspot is letting off random fireworks.
Managed to get dog settled down by playing very loud Cat Stevens greatest hits (Matthew and son just now..)

Fxck me. I think I'm on a winning streak and put on Simon & Garfunkel's album (Parsley, Rosemary and Thyme) and about the third/fourth song in has what sound like fireworks in the background... dog going mental again.

'Ghost in the Tanglewood'. The new 'country-ish' album from Ginger Wildheart. Some tracks are instant, some are workers, and some I'll perennially skip.
