Owen Hargreaves - an apology

Post by communistworkethic » Sat Jul 01, 2006 6:29 pm

Owen

in the past I have wondered what the hell you were doing pulling on a shirt for England. I've watched as you've been brought on as a sub and you skipped about, ran around and didn't achieve much.

But you've proved me, and no doubt many others, very wrong. Having finally been put in the position you play at club level you excelled. You covered at right back behind a woeful Beckham and were dependable. Today you have surpassed anyone's expectations.

Today you have worn the 3 lions and have been the epitomy of the lion at the heart of the England team. Plaudits will be bestowed on the 10 men who fought so bravely, the back 4 that have performed so well but you have outshone them all.

The tireless running through extra time can only be admired. The tackle after tackle defending in front of the back 4 and the covering for them magnificent. Then to cap it all you've gotten forward and created chances.

A stunning performance throughout 2 hours of football. Owen Hargreaves I salute you.

Commie.

May I associate myself with the comments of the honourable member.

Great game. He was the only one up front attacking with Crouch at the end, and he was the only one to put a penalty past Ricardo.

His dad is from Bolton and he's a Canadian - how could you ever doubt him? Actually this tournament the first time I've seen him play for England. What a waste of space that Lampard is, but not as much as Sven. If he'd gone 4-4-2 with Crouch ahead of Rooney and Lampard on the bench I think we might have won easily. As it is they cost me $324.

I wholly agree. He was awesome today, a true Kevin Davies esque performance.

Add me to the list, before tonight I wouldnt have had him on the bench in a school game, but he was superb. Had our ###Star### midfielders played anywhere near the level he played at we would be in the semis now.

Gerrard and the abysmal (in this tournament) Lampard have got a lot of work to do to regain their shattered reputations.

Hold down the alt key and type 130 on the number cluster - é, unless you wanted è

Hold down the alt key and press the number 1 3 0 on the numeric pad, not the the top of the keyboard, and then let go of the alt key. Your numeric pad might be amongst the keys on a laptop - if so put the num lock on or whatever is required to get numbers
