... & I thought Stretford fans were up themselves !!
Before anyone does the "you should see this as a complement" bit ... no we shouldn't. Nor as a threat, just living proof of the arrogance of the big-club mentality.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

"In the midfield, we all know about the combative and goal-scoring strength of Kevin Nolan, who is a younger and more rounded version of the Lee Bowyer of old."
If I were Nolan I'd be have to sue.

This is supposed to be a man's game but it's full of namby-pamby, wet yer pants, frilly knicker wearing pansies.

Hard-tackling with a good eye for goal, Nolan would make an excellent addition to almost any side in the Premiership.
when??? I still shake my head that the lad was ever considered a centre-half, he couldn't tackle a decent pie supper.

Newcastle site looks at our best players.
They think Jussi would serve as a good understudy to Shay Given and possibly be even third choice to Stevie Harper.
They think our defence is built around Radhi Jaidi and are pretty dismissive of Ben Haim.
They also think that we are lacking in attacking options and compare Kev Nolan to Ian Bowyer.

I don't see this as arrogance - ignorance maybe, but not arrogance. It's just some guy on a fanzine going through EPL Clubs alphabetically saying who have they got that would be an improvement on what we've [i.e. the Toons] got in that position.
So they say they think Jussi is a better goalie than their backup - hard to disagree.
They think Jaidi is better than one of their CBs (probably saw him score in the World Cup and they know nothing about TBH) - well Jaidi may be (I don't know their team well enough).
They think Joey is a better long-term than Carr - true enough.
They think Nolan would be an excellent addition - well he would
They think Vaz Te has a great future - hope so.
It's just an exercise in wishful thinking much the way we say we would like to have this player or that - they've just done it on a team by team basis.

Ben Haim was rubbish after costing us the Marseilles game IMO. It was Faye who held it together afterBench wrote:http://www.newcastle-online.com/newcast ... =headlines

Rubbish? Face it - you think we should be Real Madrid and no player can have a bad game.fanz wrote:Ben Haim was rubbish after costing us the Marseilles game IMO. It was Faye who held it together afterBench wrote:http://www.newcastle-online.com/newcast ... =headlines
