Who are the worst players to get a game in the Premiership

Post by Mich Caine » Mon Jul 17, 2006 1:52 pm

I am not on about one off players like Marco Boogers or players like Marcelinho of Newcastle. I am talking about players who got games week in week out who were absolutely bobbins.

Here are a few names I can think of.

The worst ever player to get a week in, week out was without doubt Shaun Bartlett - the Charlton striker. He was just a waste of skin. He couldn't score, he didn't seem to do anything and yet always got a game. Anyone else agree there?

James Milner - I think he is so over rated its unreal. I watch him and his crossing is rubbish, you just have no idea where its going to go. When he first came through at Leeds he was supposed to be the golden boy of English football or something. The lad is rubbish.

Stephen Jordan - Man City defender. He is just a really poor player and has a real temper. Just not premiership quality.

Two Newcastle full backs. One our old reject Robbie Elliott and the totally useless Stephen Carr. These two players are a total joke and are out of their depth so far that its ridiculous. I could take Stephen Carr on in a game, I would run circles around him

The last player is Doriva. I believe he has left Middlesbrough now, but this guy has apparently played for Brazil. I have seen him many times and he is just totally pathetic. The day he played for Brazil was the day the whole Brazilian population came down with flu.

I also wanted to add Danny Murphy in here, but I guess he is decent enough to get a game in the Premiership, but its just a miracle he has played for Liverpool and Spurs. He is a poor man's Jimmy Carter (former Liverpool and Millwall player).

Who have I missed out?

Rigobert Song (spelling?), full back at liverpool... He just looked like he was having a laugh. A bit of 'keepy uppy' in the corner then volley the ball as hard as he could into the stand.

I saw him on a televised game I watched with a Liverpool fan.. I remember saying 'What is that guy doing?'. The simple answer was 'don't ask'..

Sums him up for me that... 'don't ask'.

You have to give credit to someone willing to run themselves into the ground every match!!

What he lacks in skill he makes up for in effort and workrate. Lazy defenders must hate playing against him!

Dickov's a great player - but he's an utter git! so it kinda gets offset...

I'll add Damien Johnson to that list. One of the worst players ever.

I can't believe that Clinton "I'm as good as Michael Owen" Morrison has escaped a mention. Especially when you consider that he cost something in the order of £4m AND Andy Johnson.
