collar isn't an essential nor are the golf shoes, but I would advise the latter given the terrain and conditions. I have spare pair of 9/10s if someone wants to borrow them.

Yes, you'll also need velveteen plus fours with white knee socks, a diamond patterned Lyle and Scott pullover and a cravat. Don't forget the plus fours or they'll not let you on.

come on chaps i asked a serios question, there is a fecking crap municipal on my doorstep and they charge £6 a round but insist on proper shoes and a collar.

so it wasn't all that a silly question, because i aint driving up to Notlob just to be told to feck off home because i don't look right, i know how arsey golf authorities can be.

Dr. H - there was a guy going round in his pumps yesterday!

Shoes/spikes though, are advisable. Oh, and no footie tops.

Well there's a notice outside the pro shop that says, "no jeans, trainers or football shirts" but I saw at least one footy shirt yesterday and a few trainers.

I would say to everyone, just wear golf gear but you don't need to go over the top. How difficult is wearing a polo shirt?

I need to consolidate this nonsense in to a list of handicaps.

We are playing for the magnificent TW Open trophy....

there is also a "Nearest the pin" trophy for one of the par 3s and there maybe some other smaller prizes.

No, you win the Top Deck Shandy Drinkers Trophy (see below) and you have to play with your winkie out if you don't get it past the birds tee!
