Don't worry about the low uptake on replies to this thread, people. Things will start to pick up after about 2:30 this afternoon when the rest of the student fraternity finally drag themselves out of bed.

Not applied for my loan this year because I'm on a salary during placement. Though considering how expensive London is it might be worth it.

I think Wigan Council are wondered where the f*ck I am, they must only get about 4 applications per year because I got mine about a week after applying last time.

I'm not a student, should get a check on Monday, too.

You can never be sure when you work for Spanish public TV (now that I think of it this means that if I were English I would be working for the BBC  )

well, a joint degree in Journalism and English.

my output on an internet message board might not be up to the standard of a Uni graduate though, but that's because internet message boards aren't too important.

see that? a comma then a 'but'

I'm not sure where you're going with that one anyway. :conf:

Coordinating conjunctions such as 'but' are perfectly acceptable after a comma.

Maybe you're thinking of conjunctive adverbs such as 'however', which, strictly speaking, should only be used to begin independent clauses.
