Counting the seconds until the first lazy media report linking him with Bolton:

10, 9, 8, 7...

Thought did cross my mind with a "No, please no Sam". It's just the sort of daft challenge Sam might see as feasible. He coild probably be bought for a sack of dog biscuits.

Excellent news, this is exactly the sort of thing that we need to try and encourage Andrew Cole to come out of international retirement!

About as much chance of getting back into a Premiership club as his namesake agent...

Does anyone remember him getting sent off whilst playing us once, the dirty get? I think I was at a game (villa?) at some point and him going off.

Ring any bells or did I dream it? Christ, my memory is poor!

his movie career didn't flourish then

how arrogant that he thinks he can walk back into a premiership team
there are scores of strikers striving away in championship and league 1 week in week out who deserve it a lot more than Stan the dogger.

what's this "i don't want to play for Rag-Arse Rovers" nonesense. If Mark Hughes came calling he'd bloody well leg it over the Pennines I tell thee

The greatest thing he ever did on a pitch was take a punch off Andy Todd

Can't remember! Google is stubborn too though it appears Todd was sent off in the same game and Graham Poll was the ref.

t'was against Villa, 1997 - Todd and Collmore had a scrap in the last minute - both got sent off if memory serves - and we lost 1-0

I'd forgotten the level of malevolence in Todd's eyes on that picture (above). You can see Hell in there.

Job well done, mind.
