I'm not really a big fan of gymnastics but I've got to say very well done to Beth Tweddle who won the first ever gold medal in the history of British gymnastics (at either world or Olympic level).

Been watching this girl for a while (I seem to remember she had to pull out of a major comp not long ago through injuries). In a sport long dominated by Russia (used to be madly in love with Ludmilla Toricheva) and eastern bloc countries and, considering the amazingly high standard, she's amazing. Well done the Brit girl.

Congratulations to the lass; that's a pretty decent achievement.

I didn't know that Britain hadn't won such an event before. May it be the first of many.
