BBC News channel breaking that Rick Parfitt's passed away in Marbella, aged 68.

They've just shown part of an interview with him in which he said "Yes, of course all our songs sound rhw same - they sound like Status Quo. Who else are we going to sound like?"

You really can't argue with that! :D

RIP to a proper rock n' roller. :oyea:

Maybe as part of the expected tributes to George Michael, one of the television stations will show a concert that he gave in a Parisian Cathedral. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, the finest live performance that I've ever seen given by a British male vocalist. It is utterly outstanding and I absolutely implore each of you to see it if possible. RIP.

This made me smile: George Michael complained to a friend/agent, etc...that the press were in attendance everywhere he went and were bothering him. The friend suggested he take off the cowboy hat and sunglasses and wear a mac like everybody else. He didn't, of course. :)

My apologies. It wasn't in a Parisian Cathedral, he was the first contemporary artist ever to be asked to sing alongside The Paris Opera at the Palais de Garnier.

If it is, BP, then watch it, or at the very least, record it to watch at some point in the future. I don't own a single stick of work by George Michael, but this is utterly stunning. Especially "Different Corner", which he wrote when he was 19.

I shall be watching based on that recommendation.
