Was just leaving home when the news came through. As we've got a hotel and train tickets booked, we're going anyway!

Christ. I'd have thought it was a good thing to have this postponed. Play them when we haven't just been down to London for a cup game. More rest etc....officer_dibble wrote:feck sake

Aye, but announced at 11.am on the day when supporters are already in transit isn't quite such a good thing for them, is it? A certain Sam Allardyce in charge thing happened at the Reebok early days didn't it...claimed the undersoil heating wasn't working or something similar?BWFC_Insane wrote:Christ. Oh it's shite for the fans, and pretty ridiculous in this day and age that game is called off, when we just have a frost.TANGODANCER wrote:Aye, but announced at 11.am on the day when supporters are already in transit isn't quite such a good thing for them, is it? But for the team, probably better.

I know it's a big ask for third and fourth division clubs, but these days shouldn't ti be compulsory for first (OK, Premier Whatever) and second division clubs to have undersoil heating, and third can only go up if they already have it or will install over the summer?
Considering fans are now paying £25 to get in, the least the clubs can offer is the guarantee that in winter there's a good chance the game will be on? Of course, it also benefits the home club as re-arranged games are often on a filthy Tuesday night in February when the crowd is half what the Saturday game would get?

None of the top six are winning as it stands.

Rochdale getting battered 4-0 by Oxford....None of the others are losing though and Peterboro won and will be on 44.

Great set of results for us. As it turns out the game in hand could be very useful.

Ameobi came off the bench at Newcastle today, which, if I've got this right, means that if they decide to let him leave on loan again he can only come to us.

Going to be an interesting one on Tuesday between Sheff Utd and Fleetwood, who're unbeaten since mid-November and have crept up to 4th.
If Utd drop points in that one that's no win in three, and after a home match against Wimbledon they're away to P'boro (8th) and Bristol Rovers (10th) before hosting Scunny on 18th Feb.

Ooh, not sure about that if it's a loan. Know what you mean re not playing for three teams but I think it's alright for loanees.Nicko58 wrote:Ameobi came off the bench at Newcastle today, which, if I've got this right, means that if they decide to let him leave on loan again he can only come to us.

I could well be wrong, but after doing a bit of research I managed to find this which explains the situation pretty well. At the bottom of the page there’s a reference to short term or ‘emergency’ loans not being deemed a full transfer by FIFA and thus not counting, however now that they’ve scrapped the emergency loans I assume that this means that Ameobi is tied to either us or the Geordies.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Ooh, not sure about that if it's a loan. OK, cheers. Interesting. Haven't heard much either way but I'd've thought there'd be a bigger noise about it. Maybe you broke the story
