Re: Website Errors and faults
ER...er... my knowledge of David Jack was reported by old gaffers at the game who claimed he was better than Nat (in 1950). Tango is, of course, another matter.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 4:16 amAgree with TW15, nice to have players from different eras on it. Anyone got a photo of David Jack so we have Tango and Montys' eras covered?

Much as I loved Sam's side, I wouldn't have three of 'em up there. I'd have McGinlay in there and I can see the calls for David Jack. Jack-Lofty-Worthy-McGinlay-SuperKev for me.

Re: Website Errors and faults
I'm sorry to be the one to play a bum note, but since no one (including me) ever saw David Jack play it think it a bit pointless to include him. If I'm being totally honest (which I am) Nat, Malcolm Barrass and Tommy Banks and Brian Edwards are the only ones I can remember prior to the 1953 Cup Final team which I can reel off in my sleep: Hanson, Ball, Banks, Wheeler, Barrass, Bell, Holden Moir, Lofthouse Hassall and Langton. Prior to that they were just names and I was just a shaver, so I feel that the current list should maybe start with them at best as World War II only ended in 1946. I did see all of them actually play and I could easily include Roy Hartle, Ray Parry, Freddie Hill, Franny Lee and quite a few others, Wyn, Davies, Neil Whatmore, Andy Walker etc, Super John ...who weren't too long-time in there.

Ivan Klasnic 'the One-Kidneyed' needs to be there. Absolutely.

Hi D.J.B. Just had another e-mail from Dujon in Oz land. He still has no joy logging in or trying to re-join the site. He's been a member from very early days and I'd like to think we can help him get back. Can you give it another look please?

Re: Website Errors and faults
Well, it appears that I'm back.
Thanks to TANGO and Monty, plus the efforts of DJBlu, perhaps this might be permanent. I have yet to see if a change to a new password will work. Fingers crossed, here we go.

Re: Website Errors and faults
It seems that I am still able to access the site, but I'm not sure that the old password has changed.
A little time and very careful input will sort out this no doubt.
Again, thanks to TANGO and Monty for their very important relaying of my earlier pleas for help.

Oh - I came across this in General Banter first and answered there. Anyway, good to have you aboard again.

I don't know when the emails stopped going out as I was still receiving the admin ones.
Thanks for the heads up.

Bruce - Dunno, mate.
I do remember the bomb shelters next to Harwood Methodist school though.
Thanks, old chap, for your comment, it is really appreciated.

There were a lot of those around. Don't think they'd have done much in a direct hit but I suppose they protected one against flying debris from a relatively near miss. Not too many bombs in Lostock, though they could hear the ack-ack gun at Walkden.

Righto: I'm now not seeing other, or my, avatars (signatures are fine). I have visited my profile page and it confirms that it is set to display such.
Thoughts? ... anyone?

Something happened to avatars. Mine vanished and someone came to my rescue to explain the problem. Wait, it was you, Dujon.
But now it has gone again and you cannot help.

Ah that's a good move. Might possibly explain why I've had trouble getting the site working on my phone (Chrome on iPhone) if it's going to an old bookmark - although you'd think it'd redirect...
