Lol if we were bidding 900k for Aneke
Why? 25 year old. 10 goals and 10 assists in league one last season mainly from midfield.

Wyke is older. And cost more. And has never played above league one either.

I'd say that is probably under the going rate these days for such players.

Hmm, we've not spent a penny for years and Ken was gonna outlay almost a mill on Aneke? Just can't see that. The 900k bid was more likely Nugent is what I'm thinking.

No way. We couldn't afford Nugent's full wages and Ken isn't sinking nearly a million quid into a 33 year old. Nugent will be one of the loans we're talking about.

Aneke for £900K. If he does well we'd make a tidy profit. And his wages wouldn't be that high.

But if that's the case, why aren't MK Dons biting our hand off? How much do they want for this geezer?

I'd suggest around £250k....

I'm not saying it is him - just that £900K isn't that remarkable. Whatever the scenario we haven't been able to agree a fee for Aneke.

He's not a priority, didn't Parkinson say he wants to bring in a couple of experienced championship players before Aneke

Yep. Though that was before Matthews and Grounds. Also have to factor in that our aspirations and budget may have changed when ALF left.

The likes of Nugent/Jerome on loan make sense and I'm sure we've enquired. But I bet half the championship have also. Got to be a worry as days go on that we're left with nobody. Won't be many championship ready strikers available and those that are will be pricey and in demand.

Nugent started last night for Derby. He was eventually substituted on 77 minutes. Considering Nugent is playing at the moment, I very much doubt he will be allowed to leave, unless we offer stupid money which we won't / can't.

Yep Nugent would be ace but I can’t see Derby loaning him without getting a new one themselves at least! We need a definite tied up ASAP - don’t want a repeat of Garner on deadline day.

I see Garner can’t even get on the Wigan bench. Maybe we should try and loan him! 😂

West Ham's Reece Oxford is back in the shop window (loans department) after signing a new deal at West Ham. Was at Monchengladbach last season.

I strongly, strongly suspect that we will not get Oxford. Obviously would be over the moon if we did.

We're suddenly being linked with a few centre halves. Quite surprising.

According to the Liverpool Echo, apparently we have agreed a deal with Everton to bring Joe Williams in on a season long loan, but Everton have insisted on a recall clause

Turn it down. If he stars they'll want him back; either way we'll be over a barrel of indecision. Not the way to build a team. Typical scousers. Look elsewhere.
