I don't know anything about this guy

His highlight reel at Barnsley last season. Scored 1 goal. Worth a watch.
Likes a slide tackle.

1 goal, no assists, 10 bookings in 38 games. Assuming he's not a #10 then. Vela further up?

If so, Vela needs to get his shooting boots on pronto! Could form a Davo/Nolan partnership with Magennis IMO but he needs to up his game.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Very happy with the Williams signing. Barnsley fans suggested he held their midfield together in the first part of last season when Heckingbottom was still there. Good cover for Lowe, we have really good cover in midfield now.
Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Yeah, that's the midfield sorted. Get in a #9 and perhaps a pacy centre back and we're good to go.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
I think we only need another striker now (the hardest one to find!) and we've got 2 for each position (at least)

That was what I expected, but we are being linked to a few now and they're all the same type - which seems to mean (this summer at least) that we're in the market.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 5:34 pmWe have Wilson and Hobbs as CB cover. Right now Wheater and Beevers aren’t being dropped for a long time. We are fine at CB.
Happy with the lad we've brought in. Gritty and can pass, which is what I wanted.

True. But I think a striker is the short term priority as per Ken’s notes. Reckon the CB talk is more longer term and we’d do it now for one if the price suited.

Pleased with this lad from Everton. Nice of Joe Royle to let us have one the fat prick!

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Centre forward does seem to be the priority, as it has been all summer. I think that's the only one where Parky would do his nut it we "go with what we've got." However, I'd not be shocked to see an athletic centre back and Aneke rock up before the deadline - also not shocked if they don't.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 7:49 pmTrue. Wow, based on that vid this kid looks like a star in the making. Shame we can't sign him permanent. I think Parky would adopt him.DJBlu wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 12:10 pm

Speed. Size (6ft 1in) once he fills out. Energy. Nasty tackler with excellent technique. Comfortable on the ball in close. And at the end shows some long range passing prowess too. The only worry is if we get a ref like the Bristol City bumpkin.
With O'Neill playing so well we are sorted at DM. It's gone from worst weakness to a position of strength. Just need that third striker give Hall a leave pass to go on loan.
3GK: Alnwick, Remi,
3CB: Wheater, Beevers, Wilson,Hobbs
3RB: Olki, Little, Darby,
1LB: Grounds,Taylor,
4DM: Lowe, Williams, Murphy, O'Neil
3AM: Vela, Oztumer, Pritchard
2RW: SAmeobi, Noone,
2LW: Buckley, Wildschut,
3ST: Magennis, Donaldson, Conor Hall,
What could've happened; did.

You reckon Ken maybe loan/selling Beevers to Ibrox after all?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 7:19 pmThat was what I expected, but we are being linked to a few now and they're all the same type - which seems to mean (this summer at least) that we're in the market.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 5:34 pmWe have Wilson and Hobbs as CB cover. Whether it's true or not, I would like to see Wilson start alongside Wheater.
He's naturally left sided and distributes better along the floor - less hoofing it. I think he and Grounds would combine really well and let us pass it out from the back better.
After 5 games I think our best lineup is something like: 4-2-3-1
Subs: Wildschut, Donaldson, Murphy/ONeill
--------------Alnwick------------------
Olki----Wheater--Wilson--Grounds
-------Williams------Lowe----------
--Ameobi-----Vela------Noone---
------------Magennis-----------
What could've happened; did.
Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Grounds, Wilson and our new Everton loanee who hasn't even played a minute with his new teammates (or been in the building 24 hours) are all in our current best 11?
They've all combined for about 0 minutes of Championship football during which we've accumulated 10 points from a possible 12.
LMAO.

People complain about hoofball and those three players can pass and play along the floor more.Dr Hotdog wrote: ↑Fri Aug 24, 2018 9:45 amGrounds, Wilson and our new Everton loanee who hasn't even played a minute with his new teammates (or been in the building 24 hours) are all in our current best 11?

So I'm suggesting we try them. Yup.

they've got 440 championship and premier league games between the three of them (Wilson has 180 premier league games).Dr Hotdog wrote: ↑Fri Aug 24, 2018 9:45 amGrounds, Wilson and our new Everton loanee who hasn't even played a minute with his new teammates (or been in the building 24 hours) are all in our current best 11?

If we'd had your way we'd never had given Oz a run either.
Or is he now in your magic 11 that must not be touched.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
You got me. Throw out the 10 points from 12 formula, drop two members of the back four and throw the kid who barely knows the names of the rest of the guys in the squad into the midfield engine room. We're ready. Nice one.
