I certainly believe the bit about BM being unwilling to negotiate. Would you in their position?

We have just had a break evenish year due to a hitherto mid L1 level striker having an unforeseen purple patch and suddenly going from close to worthless to bringing in £6.5m. That is unlikely to happen again. BM surely feel if they don't get their money now, they might never get it, particularly with Ken's record of paying his dues!

IMO selling Vela and Beevers doesn't affect our squad as negatively as not getting a striker would.

Ken: I will not be taken advantage of...We have a price in mind that we're prepared to pay and when the money they want becomes realistic we back off... Six figure sums...It's the players' fault, they should repay the fans and buy a striker!

Could be utter nonsense. Let’s hope it is. Technically if Ken cannot agree the refinancing with BM and doesn’t pay up on Monday then BM could potentially go through the courts to wind us up. Or end up owning half the club.

But anyway new day. Positivity. Come on Ken give us a striker and keep the rest of the squad in tact and we can all enjoy a good start to the season and a decent squad being in place.

Clubs say a lot of things on deadline day. Ask Gary Madine. It would hardly be the world's best negotiation tactic to say "Well, we've signed his replacement, so we're admitting he's going to go."

Not that I think necessarily we'll get Boyce, but we should have learned by now that what clubs say in public isn't necessarily the whole truth.

Iles says "Wanderers have three bids in and are hopeful they can get one (possibly two) done by the close of business today... I'm told there was a deal which was pretty close to happening last night - but that might have dropped away. Should have the details on that towards lunchtime." Of course, many will suspect he's being fed a line, but it's all supposition and guesswork today.
