According to Alan Nixon, Burton are looking to sign a striker. I wonder if they have a player leaving?
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Sun saying Blackburn may come calling for Vela if West Brom snatch Dack away
Valuations seem a bit dodgy.
Dack $7m? Don't sell.
Vela $5m? We'll take it.

Heard a rumour, take it for what it is....that only movement tomorrow is outwards...in spite of Parky saying nobody is going that Vela might be on his way. Possibly even Beevers too.
Seems like Ken hasn’t been able to agree to a BM loan extension and needs to raise cash.
Could be nonsense. But has an air of truth if I’m totally honest with myself.

Well yes imminent disaster is always going to have a ring if truth given circumstances (and your disposition!)

The uber pessimist would say our good start will give Ken wiggle room to flog one or two while stock is high and points are on the board. What with him being a spiv and all.

If Magennis gets injured or loses his shooting boots, it's gonna be a long, horrible season. Lol.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
I certainly believe the bit about BM being unwilling to negotiate. Would you in their position?
We have just had a break evenish year due to a hitherto mid L1 level striker having an unforeseen purple patch and suddenly going from close to worthless to bringing in £6.5m. That is unlikely to happen again. BM surely feel if they don't get their money now, they might never get it, particularly with Ken's record of paying his dues!

Lol. The psyche of a football fan is fascinating. I reckon football fans produce more dopamine and cortisol over the course of their life than anyone else. We literally drown in that shit.

Tomorrow looks like being a frosty Friday, one way or another. Even looking at it all through my super strength rose -tinters, I wish we didn't always wait till the final count down to decide one way or another. Hard on the nerves. Come on Ken, make this a good one....

That feels right and fits the rumour mill.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 8:13 pmHeard a rumour, take it for what it is....that only movement tomorrow is outwards...in spite of Parky saying nobody is going that Vela might be on his way. Possibly even Beevers too.

IMO selling Vela and Beevers doesn't affect our squad as negatively as not getting a striker would.
Ken: I will not be taken advantage of...We have a price in mind that we're prepared to pay and when the money they want becomes realistic we back off... Six figure sums...It's the players' fault, they should repay the fans and buy a striker!
Also we''re in a dispute with our lazy gardeners, a bus company, the owner of a bouncy castle and several local kindergartens...
Finally, fan's are reminded they can pay on the day

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Could be utter nonsense. Let’s hope it is. Technically if Ken cannot agree the refinancing with BM and doesn’t pay up on Monday then BM could potentially go through the courts to wind us up. Or end up owning half the club.mullayo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 1:31 amThat feels right and fits the rumour mill.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 8:13 pmHeard a rumour, take it for what it is....that only movement tomorrow is outwards...in spite of Parky saying nobody is going that Vela might be on his way. But anyway new day. Positivity. Come on Ken give us a striker and keep the rest of the squad in tact and we can all enjoy a good start to the season and a decent squad being in place.

Burton have signed a striker, might suggest they are more willing to let Boyce go

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Clubs say a lot of things on deadline day. Ask Gary Madine. It would hardly be the world's best negotiation tactic to say "Well, we've signed his replacement, so we're admitting he's going to go."
Not that I think necessarily we'll get Boyce, but we should have learned by now that what clubs say in public isn't necessarily the whole truth.
Iles says "Wanderers have three bids in and are hopeful they can get one (possibly two) done by the close of business today... I'm told there was a deal which was pretty close to happening last night - but that might have dropped away. Should have the details on that towards lunchtime." Of course, many will suspect he's being fed a line, but it's all supposition and guesswork today.

So just like last deadline.
Frankly I'm suspicious that there don't seem to be any serious links with players at a relatively advanced stage. And its nearly 11am.
Loans happen quicker I guess, but still.....

"An un-named Championship club had an £800,000 bid turned down for Forest Green's Christian Doidge, says Sky Sports man Peter O'Rourke."
