Under the Milkwood Tree....Versus Swansea away 2-2-2019, 3-0'clock.
Off to Swansea (although you pronounce it Swans-y) and the land of Dylan Thomas, Captain Cat, Organ Morgan and quite a few No-Good Boyos. They'll still be singing in the valleys about beating us at Rugby last week, but let's try to leave a tear or two on the football field on Saturday.. Right in the middle of the table and playing at home, they'll want to obey Thomas's " Do not go Gentle into that good night" and come out fighting. Do we see a chance of a "rarebit" of good fortune?
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Piece of piss. 1-2.
Re: Under the Milkwood Tree....Versus Swansea away 2-2-2019, 3-0'clock.
Before Leeds away last weekend, I thought that was the game we had a chance of getting something out of. I think Swansea, on the other hand, will smash us 3-0.
May as well save our energy for the Millwall game next week

Parky's last game?
Swansea could hardly be more mid-table on form: 13th over the last 6 matches, 11th over the last 8, 14th over the last 10, 12th over the last 12. Trouble is, we're in the bottom four for all of those.
At home, they've not been great (seventh-bottom) and in their last 8 at the Liberty they've W3 D2 L3, the wins being by single goals over Millwall and both Sheffield teams. Over the season they've lost at home to Ipswich, Bristol City, Villa, West Brom and Norwich; they also went two down to Wigan (our old friend Joe Garner scoring both) before clawing back a draw. They've only failed to score there once since September, but have also only kept three clean sheets in that time - and though two of those were in the last three games, they sandwiched a 3-3 with Birmingham.
As with every other game, the instructions will be to keep it tight and nick something. It might even work, but probably not enough for a win.

Enough with all the realist sh*t, lets have some unfounded optimism!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 11:22 amParky's last game?

Re: Under the Milkwood Tree....Versus Swansea away 2-2-2019, 3-0'clock.
Inspired by the unusual directorial technique of withholding payment, then further pepped up by their tearful manager saying nothing but wins all the way will save his job, the Wanderers roar out of the dressing room, score in the first minute and then line up along the edge of their box swatting away the Swans like violent kayakers with sharp-edged paddles. After a 1-0 win the takeover is completed, money found for a high-wage but free-transfer striker who can't stop scoring, we finish mid-table, Parky retires in summer, we find a magic manager who attacks without conceding and all is well forever.
Better?

Whether it meets Enoch's "optimism" bar, only he can say. It's certainly unfounded!

By nature I'm optimistic, but I'm also realistic.
That said, it's now March, and teams drifting in midtable (or folding under pressure at either sharp end) can find themselves beaten by a team with purpose.

Though I prefer your ebullient post above.
If you want doom and gloom can I recommend the second referendum thread on the banter board!

I don't, so I shan't. I've done something for the Stats thread instead.

When you say you did something, all hope sprang eternal, and then I noticed you gave us an extra 1.2 points till the end of the season. I expect much much much better than that, I'm afraid ..Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 1:56 pmI don't, so I shan't. I've done something for the Stats thread instead.

At the current rate. Point is, just as it was last year, our run-in is statistically easier than our rivals', so it's theoretically easier to gather steam, starting tomorrow. But it means nowt if we don't pick up, or if we drop daft points (like we did last year).Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2019 2:55 pmWhen you say you did something, all hope sprang eternal, and then I noticed you gave us an extra 1.2 points till the end of the season. I fear this will be the game when the wheels finally come off. 7-0 them.

6-0 home win.
They have fast players who can hurt on the break. We have players who can't make an effort out of open play or set pieces.
Our team is demoralised, uninspired and led by a man who knows his time is up.
Optimism? Stick it up your arse.

Despite everything, I'm hoping for all three points. I'm actually depending on it.
