Chairboys v Choirboys; the Wanderers against some Wanderers. Wycombe (a). Sat 3 August - 3pm

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

That’s Akinfenwa up against two kids. He’ll get about 10 tomorrow.
Lowe will be dropped in at the back.

Left back (I don't know if he's left footed but he certainly isn't right).

Interesting to note that 7 doesn't have a defender it. Even with "senior player" Brockbank and Lowe in there we're short. Not sure I'll be seeing my £130!

I'm still far from convinced that this game will go ahead.

Yep, seems strange we are being forced to play the under 18s and Bury have their game cancelled. I can see a situation where this gets cancelled early doors - hopefully not because of a players strike.

I'm pretty confident it will go ahead. The game that is, not the takeover.

A win today would be great. Not so much for the three points but more for the history books, like McGinlay in the net for example.

To take such a threadbare squad and get something from it would be immense. (wishful thinking of course)

A win would of course be great but come on people don't get your hopes up. This is going to be a thrashing.

A handful of experienced professionals, some very inexperienced youths, the bloke who cuts the grass and a steward. I'd be surprised if we have more than a couple of subs.

It's the first day of a new season. For those who are going, sing your heart out for those who are still here and are prepared to pull on that white top. COYW!!!

Don't forget that this is the equivalent of a Cup final for some of these lads.

If they give it 100% then I'll be proud.

Balls to the result.

Someone on Twitter reckoned they'd got "boosted" odds off 33-1 but that's all beyond me.

Que? Merely a little cyber support for this afternoon's youthful side, Enoch. Any duality of meaning exists in your head, my friend - not mine. ;)

My expectations are at a much lower, more incremental level.

1.) Did the coach arrive? I have this vision of Oztumer reading the finer points of his payslip, making a fuss, and the coach turning back at Sandbach.

2.) Can we field a full side? The names on the bench today should be a sight to behold. Could be some serious ringers...

3.) Parky's unique ability to grind out a hard working 2-0 defeat in almost any circumstances should come in handy today.

Real credit to the 1k+ fans today. When all said and done that is what we are about, and I hope where future inspiration will be sourced from. COYW.

Marc Iles has just put up a video showing a Bolton team there. The quality isn't the best and as Otzumer is the same size as the U18s it's hard to tell if he's there.
