^^ and rightly so! Let's not forget that only 3 teams can go down now after Bury's expulsion. It's not over!

A war cry has gone out to the rest of the Leagues that we are after 15 players by the end of Monday.

Jimmy Pip says we are allowed another 12 players this season. Interesting. We may not go for many until the gaffer comes. But also, I’d expect the EFL to be pliant by January if all is going smoothly.

Where he say that?

Must mean that some of the kids have to be considered part of the squad due to the number of their appearances. Which I suspect may play a part in team selection today.

We need to sign some players if we possibly can to strengthen the team – we’re allowed 12 more signings for the season.

The young lads need help. I think we’re the only club that’s been in administration and had so few first-team players to choose from.

I saw that but thought it better not quoting him. Did a bit of research on the lad.

Stephen Dawson - 33 year old midfielder experienced in the lower levels (Mansfield, Bury, Barnsley, Leyton Orient, Rochdale). Signed and immediately made captain. Did his knee cartilage in (according to Wiki) after only a few games and has hardly played since. Made 21 appearances in two seasons for bury but has generally played well over 30 games per year. Obviously not played this season so no idea if he has recovered from his injury.

Something else to add, Stephen is in the process of having to sell his house because of Bury’s expulsion from the English Football League and non-payment of salary.

What about Neil Danns (36 now) also at Bury? Can he do a job for us in this league? Limited player but always gave his all. Better than Murphy surely.

I think we can do better, personally. Even in this state.

I think and really hope you are correct but we might only be looking at freebies or loan players. Beggers cannot be too choosy with only a day to go.

Free agents can still be signed after tomorrow. Not much longer after tomorow in our position, admittedly, but theoretically the unattached can be picked up at any time provided they were a free agent before the closure of the most recent transfer window.

That is very true.

We seem to be linked with a lot of midfielders. We have no senior full-backs, one senior centre-back, no senior wingers and no senior centre-forward (unless you count Connor Hall, which frankly I don’t). Lowe and Murphy may not be brilliant but boy do we have holes to fill.

This news won't ease DSB's concern about us seemingly only being linked with midfielders, but the Guardian's Daniel Taylor (who I usually find to be very credible) claims Liam Bridcutt is joining us.

But more interesting than that, perhaps, is that he's he's represented by a football agency named 10Ten Talent. Now, what link might there be between the 10Ten Talent football agency and Bolton Wanderers?

Just seen that re Bridcutt. Got quite excited about a name I recognise only to find out he's (another) defensive midfielder and not a striker. Still, if he's better than what we have and most of his football has been played at a higher level than where we're at, then great.

No idea on the connection though re 10Ten

10 Ten is owned by Parminder Basran one of the Football Ventures original members.

I might have overegged it slightly, but 10Ten Talent is listed as one of VGC Partners' investments. Parminder Basran is the founder and managing partner of VGC Partners.

I know he's no longer a director or a shareholder in FVWL, but it would appear that his relationship with our new owners isn't at a complete end either. And if he's done us one favour in bringing one of their players in, more might well follow.
