Is Chicksen injured?
On bench. Iles described him as dropped the other day.

I'd have thought it'd have made more sense to persevere with him if dropping him means we have to shuffle our back line to such an extent that we're having to play our most creative available midfielder at centre-back.

(Assuming that is what it means)
Chicksen's out of contract next month. He's started 15 games. Wonder if there's a trigger clause if he gets to 16?

BTW, Southend and Tranmere were both losing but have both equalised (as at 32')

Quite possibly. It'd be dissapointing if that is the reason for his absence, though, as I hoped we'd moved past that kind of thing now. But then if we aren't planning to keep him on then I suppose it might make sense.

Good first half performances. Players up for it and playing well, Bridcutt marshaling things from the back, intercepting playing nice passes forward. Sunderland backline seem error prone and hopefully we will put one in the net in the second half with D Murphy looking the likely person to do it. Still giving away too many corners and freekicks in good positions for Sunderland. Holding my breath with Lowe and Emmanuel with their tackling. They are on yellows and seem a tackle away from red. We can win this.

We've done quite well, with a few bright spots here and there. Arguably, Darcy should probanly have scored but then they might equally have had an equaliser. But we're awful at set-pieces. Just awful. Considering who they're managed by, and how many free-kick's we've given away, it's hard not to think that might costs us at some point.

Although they're more nervous than we are, which is something we should try and take advantsge of. The first goal will be huge.

I still don't know what I think about Bridcutt playing at centre-back but he's been very good today.

FT Bristol Rovers 1-2 AFC Wimbledon
FT Burton 4-2 Tranmere
FT Southend 2-2 MK Dons

so we're a point closer to Tranmere, two further away from AFC Wombles - but that's a good 0-0 away - when did we last get one of those?

0-0

Take that

Who said he isn't stubborn?

Same back four and Verlinden on the right again in the 2nd half.

Lot of heart-in-mouth moments at the end there, but that's no bad result away in the end. Sounds likw Mattews saved the day at the last. Well done the lads.... :oyea:

Brilliant point. The players really put in a shift, out on their feet for the last 15 mins but fought for every ball. Have to say Bridcutt was excellent and also Emmanuel. Darcy, Earle and Lowe honorable mentions. Man of the match however - Remi Matthews for those two world class saves towards the end. I thought they both were in.

Entirety of 2019 in the (/a) relegation zone, isn't it?

Horrible anus indeed.

Not quite.

As 2019 we were above the dots on goal difference. Later on New Year's Day we sorted that out good and proper with that really quite stupendous 6-0 shitting-on at Hull.
