Up Hill and down 'Dale - Rochdale (A), 3:00pm, 11/01/20

Post by TonyDomingos » Fri Jan 10, 2020 4:46 pm

So, we go into this one with no certainty of the starting XI. Will the newbies be thrown in through necessity or will Hill manage to weave together a patchwork side of older hands and the yoofs?

Rochdale come into this having beaten Accy last time out in the league. But, that followed a run of three consecutive defeats. And, of course they have their Cup replay at Newcastle on Tuesday. Hopefully, that will provide the distraction we need to nick a point or three.

Forgot they had a cup replay. That can work both ways: those assured of their place might hold off a bit, but the fringe lads will go balls-out. And they're all kids anyway, some of 'em look like they've never shaved.

Dunno - we might lose. I'd prefer we didn't.

I was originally going to this but cant make it now. It's the only time this season I've felt absolutely sure we're getting nothing. 0-3 defeat

Just risen from three weeks of looking like the ghost of Christmas Past to croak..."COME ON YOU WHITES!! Missed Christmas and New Year Completely. Been laid low with bad arthritis culminating in Thrush and a chest infection, truly not fun, horrendous in fact. Just finished a seven day course of penicilin and hoping for an improve, so get in there lads and get the New Year Points. :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Best guess:

Matthews; Emmanuel, Edwards, Nsiala, Chicksen; Hamilton, Weir, Darcy; Dodoo, Murphy, O'Grady

I've thrown the towel in for this season and I - like many others - can only see another hammering here. 0-5. Grim.

Aren't we all pal? :D

Even now as kick off approaches a little bit of me is thinking "what if this lad plucked from the lower reaches of non league is an instant success?"

Not perfect but decent.

Good enough for the Bolton News it seems. Confirms my suspicion that Iles is a member of our merry online gang.

Toto and Hamilton start; Mo Faal and young George Thomason on bench.

Looks to me like a back three of Liam Edwards, Toto and Zouma, with Chicksen and Emmanuel as wingbacks. Sonny Graham and Ethan Hamilton in midfield, possibly joined by Darcy if we're going two up (Daryl and Dodoo).

Be all the same if I could open the link. My machine says it's from a dubious source!

Can't imagine what it's referring to.

COYW. Looks like a 3-5-2 / 5-3-2? Nsiala and Zouma in defence, hope the power overrides the chaos!

Iles describes it as a 4-1-3-2, with Liam Edwards sitting between the defence and the youthful midfield – and, by a process of elimiation, Dodoo up top instead of wide.

Ah cool. Good for us going forward if Edwards is an option as a DM...
