I watched his interview on the club website. Incomprehensible stream of consciousness garbage. I’m not sure he knows what point he’s trying to make let alone anyone else.

'Hill freely accepts he needs to acquire a specialist left-back, having filled the position with three different players during 90 minutes'

Seriously, I really can't remember the last time I saw us (or possibly any side) defend as poorly as this. It is, to be frank, 4ucking horrendous.

May the bridges I burn light your way

I agree with this, I watched it earlier and it is absolute garbage - if his team talks are conducted in a similar way its no wonder the players don't have a clue and that we are so disorganised on the pitch, he really does come across as though he is way out of his depth IMO.

There is a lad called Chicksen kicking about on a free. Been playing regularly for a league one side. I’m sure he would do a job in league two.

Most Bolton fans didn't expect miracles but they expected a manager of Hills pedigree to have assembled a side capable of beating a few teams. Last night was a complete embarrassment against a side in none league a couple of seasons ago,

As stated before, my main fear is next season when Hill will again will have to assemble a squad, not just to compete but challenge for promotion and that should be the main objective regardless.

So Hill is now the fall guy. Mind you, he caused a lot of it because of his outburst last week so wont get a lot of sympathy. However, lets be real. We have been operating way above our earnings in recent years, and to correct that will cause a lot of suffering and reality check. We are under embargo and financial restrictions. There is going to be pain!

I cant see Hill wanting to go into a game without a left back or sending away players like Earl, Bridcutt, Wright without replacements or signing a non league striker. Clearly his hands are tied by things outside his control. Maybe, just maybe. that was what sent him over the edge last week saying he knows the players he needs. But he cant get them!!

Its fair to point out that when he had those players available we weren't doing as well as we ought.

The lack of organisation and ability to at the least be a solid side has been a problem since Hill came in and I don't think is purely down to the players he has available.

The situation is difficult. But it was difficult too last time we came up and when we were in the championship. Nobody expected us to stay up - not one single fan but I seriously doubt anyone would have ever been happy losing by 6 or 7 goals to Accrington, Lincoln and Rotherham.

When addressing Chicksen for example Hill did not say "we need to reduce our costs" he said we needed better - which makes it sound like his decision. Yet he's gone into the game lost 5-1 and then said the players we have aren't good enough.....its confused all round.

As it currently stands it seems were years behind the likes of Accrington Rochdale et al. We do create more revenue via the gate than most clubs and will be the case next term. A decent side next season could put a lot more on the gate but, should this mess continue our gate will plummet.
I'm unsure like many what FV have in funds to attempt to steady this sinking ship but next season will be crucial.

I'm not sure about Hill's comments that the players aren't good enough.

Matthews, Emmanuel, Nsiala, L.Murphy, Dodoo, D.Murphy are top half L1 players, players that should form the basis of a promotion pushing side. Hamilton has L1 experience. Darcy is a real prospect who is being talked about as interesting higher level teams. Politic was interesting Norwich in the summer. Zouma clearly has ability if very erratic. The experienced O'Grady was on the bench.

When Lowe is back on Saturday, we are able to field eight of the side that I saw destroy promotion contenders Bristol Rovers a couple of months ago, with Darcy or Hamilton replacing Crawford, and Nsiala replacing Earl, replacements that shouldn't weaken us significantly.

The gaping, significant hole is at left back which seems a self inflicted blunder. It is surely Hill's doings to leave us with no left back? Even if Earl and Chicksen have been sacrificed as part of an economy drive, we have had enough time and warning to sign a cheaper left back before they left. Also hard to believe Earl (settled at the club and good at CB/LB) is significantly more expensive than Nsiala who cost Ipswich £750k at the start of 2018/19 when they were in the Championship.

How could anyone outside the club's inner sanctum come to that conclusion?

By noticing the absence of Chicksen?

Deciphering Hills comments (not easy, I know) when he spoke about Chicksen being released?

He can go f**k himself to be honest - It's getting embarrassing

I'm not saying he should be sacked, but I'd be relieved if he walked away before he inflicts any further damage upon us. This season is a write off, but even so, just try and be hard to beat, organised and make a fist of the games. He's either unwilling, or incapable of doing that and we are getting roundly tw*tted. The spirit from the players doesn't look to be there and soon enough, that will reverberate around the stands, which is by and large (at this moment), sympathetic still at the predicament.

But let's be clear on one thing. We are Bolton Wanderers - He is Keith Hill
He's clearly got the better deal out of this, so he needs to stop making out like he's doing us a favor being employed by us. He should be pinching himself FFS

Good post Boris....what is quite annoying is the 'almost' acceptance by Hill that the team is shit and that he can't do anything about it, and that the fans should just basically accept the situation and be patient, also the players certainly are not playing for Hill, and these complete capitulations against Accrington, Burton, Lincoln and losing to Rochdale 4 times in a season is almost accepted by Hill almost as if it is what it is etc....where is the fight, desire, pride from the players, what the heck are they doing in training to become harder to beat & more organised.

What happened to the Hill 'going to war', siege mentality that he came out with and his comments about his style is to play good football, entertaining the fans etc. Not getting any further points deduction from the EFL has been completely wasted, when we heard the initial decision, most fans were upbeat & confident about avoiding the drop - well that has now certainly gone out of the window.

The fans have been very patient with Hill to date, but you do sense that general opinion is changing and that they may turn if we don't start to pick up a few wins quickly.

I'm a bit surprised most fans would have been confident avoiding the drop. At no point have I thought we'd avoid the drop. But yes please to more organisation and less capitulation...

Only for a week or so around the time the initial decision came through about the suspended 5 points, we had also just had an 1/2 decent run beating Bristol Rovers, Fleetwood & MK Dons (the last 2 without Crawford), I think many fans (not all) had genuine hope of avoiding the drop until we got dicked 7-1 at Accrington - and then any hope quickly disappeared.

Yeah, that was the time of greatest optimism, with a run of (more) winnable games coming up. Then we stopped winning, others started, and Hill got progressively weirder.

Absolutely this. I'm now constantly being told "You've changed your tune from you 'this side won't get relegated' of a couple of months ago". Damn right I have.
