I always look for the unstated reasons instead of the politically correct statements eg.. player is injured vs really, the player upset the manager by attitude and is dropped..(smile). Was he really giving Darcy a rest?
Anyway, my own view is that we should not play both Politic and Darcy on the field at the same time. Though both talented, we become too lightweight with them both on the field due to their physical size. One of them at a time works for me now that we have some more experienced and stronger players in the squad. Teams wont be able to overpower us.

Surely, as part of the negotiations on our part we can point to the likes of Luca Connell who isn't even making the Celtic bench. Other than for Holding, have any of our youngsters gone on to do anything of note?

Ilesy asked this the other day on the liveblog, although it was more The Ones That Got Away: David Brooks, Aaron Ramsdale, Aaron Mooy, Ashley Fletcher, Jon Walters, Nat Phillips, Kyle Bartley, Fojut, Augustyn, Dzemaili, Alan Ball...Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 4:20 pmSurely, as part of the negotiations on our part we can point to the likes of Luca Connell who isn't even making the Celtic bench. When I first started going in the mid 70s there were still folk bemoaning us letting him go. If there was any consolation though, it meant we never had to endure him as a manager!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 7:01 pmIlesy asked this the other day on the liveblog, although it was more The Ones That Got Away: David Brooks, Aaron Ramsdale, Aaron Mooy, Ashley Fletcher, Jon Walters, Nat Phillips, Kyle Bartley, Fojut, Augustyn, Dzemaili, Alan Ball...Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 4:20 pmSurely, as part of the negotiations on our part we can point to the likes of Luca Connell who isn't even making the Celtic bench. I think we can add Chris Basham to that lot. That we fired David Brooks off telling him he's "too small", long after the Alan Ball incident, just points perfectly accurately as to one of the reasons as to why we're in the cart.,Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 7:01 pmIlesy asked this the other day on the liveblog, although it was more The Ones That Got Away: David Brooks, Aaron Ramsdale, Aaron Mooy, Ashley Fletcher, Jon Walters, Nat Phillips, Kyle Bartley, Fojut, Augustyn, Dzemaili, Alan Ball...Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 4:20 pmSurely, as part of the negotiations on our part we can point to the likes of Luca Connell who isn't even making the Celtic bench. It’s fair to say Chris Basham has made the most of his ability with an excellent career since we let him go. Getting a tune out him at that level shows just how good Wilder is, and how good Bashams character is. Would love him back!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 9:06 pmI think we can add Chris Basham to that lot. Interesting piece in The Athletic on Basham. About how we were going to release him but Megson stepped in because he liked the lad's attitude (while admitting he hadn't seen him play much). Also brought him on (for his debut) in the last minute at Sunderland just because Basham's a Sunderland fan, which is a nice touch.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2020 9:06 pmI think we can add Chris Basham to that lot.
