A frustrating player. Had all the talent but rarely produced when it mattered, or indeed even when it did not. Probably this explains way. More interested in the lifestyle than applying himself. Thousands like him too. Could have probably played for a massive club were it not for his choices and luck with injuries - though I'd argue to an extent they go hand in hand.

Luxury we couldn't afford to carry. On his day, superb. Had he been a lot more consistent and a lot less injured, he wouldn't have been playing for us methinks.

Game-changer on his day. The problem is that his days were too few and too far between, and his glass knees made them even rarer. He could only really play as the attacking midfielder in a midfield five, but even then on the defensive it was like playing with ten. Very frustrating player, but didn't deserve to have his career ended so soon.
