A couple of other things. Delfouneso will be an important player for us, and when we scored our goal I was in no doubt whatsoever that Sarcevic would be running in late to hit it home. I think we'll see that a lot.

On Santos, he's at this level for a reason. He's a big lad who can play and tackle, so he will be lacking in other areas. If he is one of those lads who lacks concentration at times (being good for four games and then inept for one) then we can live with it. If he just doesn't understand the positional side of the game then we can't. The trouble he'll have is that he can't get touch-tight in this system and just rough guys up (he showed his power a few times today), he has got to be aware of his surroundings.

We will have to remember what level we are at and that consistency isn't a hallmark of players down here. If he's like this over a run of games I'll worry, but as with Comley he is pretty young and can improve. Of all our defenders only Baptiste is the finished article...hopefully not "finished", though.

I was happy to see improvement today. Some sloppy mistakes at the back which we were rightly punished for, vast majority of the game I thought we were the ones in control.

No real cutting edge up front sadly, seemed like an exercise in ball retention and not one of putting it in the net. Given time i'm sure it'll pick up.

Least we were more entertaining to watch than the England match (zzzzzzz)

Let's get this party started!

Dennis Politic (knee), Liam Edwards (knee) and Muhammadu Faal (foot) out, but Reiss Greenidge is available.

Evatt says:

"When we play against a team we’ll identify strengths and weaknesses and pick players accordingly. The team on Saturday will be the right one to beat Bradford but does that mean that it will be the same team on Tuesday night, no it doesn’t.”

1-0 to us.
Decent shift from White but on balance MotM has to be Domingos for getting out of the blocks quickly with a top notch thread title. All the elements. Premier League rather than League 2. Well done.

Cheers, LE. Poor film and poor performance by all accounts (I didn't watch due to it being Mrs D's birthday). But, hey ho - onwards and upwards.

First time I’ve seen it. Santos horrible on both goals conceded, 10 yards off play and ubreactive while Bradford just amble into space. Much much better needed but he has no real right-footed competition bar Brockbank, whom I fear Evatt doesn’t rate.

The move before their first goal on the clip was him giving it straight to them in midfield. He had a mare.

Just watched the replay. Great to see two L2 teams passing the ball around so well. In my opinion however, we were not much of an attacking threat despite all the possession. In fact, Santos for me, until he decided to sit back after losing his man for the 2nd, was our most attacking player in terms of trying to carry and pass the ball forward behind Bradford! Our midfield while tidy, are not penetrative. We will miss Politic. Need an attacking replacement for him. Crawford does not look up for it at the moment

Not much more to say about Santos' lack of concentration for both goals and Gordon's for his contribution for the 1st allowing so much space behind him without cover, which was exploited by Bradford who look a good side. Crellin by the way looks to have a fine future.

Great to watch us play football again after years of dross.

There's nobody in this team who you'd say can stand a guy up and go past him. Distinct lack of flair.

On Gordon, I'd not be surprised if we see people in behind him all season and I am not sure he was at fault there. I could be wrong, but I think we are intentionally asymmetrical. The left wing back is actually a midfielder with some defensive duties, not a defender. The right wing back is a defender whose job it is to get forward. It's the job of Taft or a midfielder to move to left back when needed. It was confusion as to what happens next that cost us the second goal, but I don't think Gordon was out of position. Evatt was telling him to get forward.

Agree that it's good to watch us try and play.

A mate of mine has a theory that every defence needs a big, dozy stopper. Well, this lad appears to have two of the boxes ticked. :D

Does your mate also think we should sign Benson and Hedges for their experience?

Them 2 look more Melton - Mowbray than B&H to me.
