Agreed. Shame he’s not left footed!

Miles better from Gordon then - hope it gives him confidence that. Should have had it back as well.

Not sure I would write Gordon off yet. He has pace and I think that’s a massive asset. You can add some football smarts but can’t speed a player up....

Another goal where a player has no challenge on him. This team is too soft to score against. Balance isn’t right.

That was lovely. Miller has been great since he came on. Looks a good foil for Doyle.

Really good - recycled the ball when the original attack broke down and great finish.

Brockbank just isn’t very good. Probably time to just face up to it with some of these lads.

A touch of cult hero status you mean when him and the rest of the kids stepped in to the breach?
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Nobody can tell me we don’t need to look at some centre backs. Taft is awful tonight.

Needless penalty.

Can't see Mr Taft starting on Saturday.

Not sure I see a lot wrong with Gordon. Our problems are almost all at centre back IMHO.

We’ve played a lot better second half but you can’t say we deserve anything. Crewe have had about 8 proper opportunities.

I think he’s very green. I’d be tempted to try the other lad Saturday but there might be a player there. Doesn’t make the right runs - but when he beat the man second half his confidence picked up and he looked better. I agree the centre half area is what we need to sort.

Doyle should/could have had a couple, defence very worrying, have we no other left back/wing back other than Gordon?

When Miller came on we looked convincing going forwards. I’d take that. The midfield still wasn’t quite right though I thought we looked better when Comley came on. Crawford wasn’t very good.

The trouble is, and the major problem is the back three were beyond bad. If you defend like that you will get absolutely nowt time and time again. Next three days need to be spent doing defensive drills. And then when not training finding another experienced head who can read the game to add to the squad. Brockbank can be bombed out. Delaney might be ok - the other two tonight just look abysmal to me.

It’s the worry area. For me the last 25 minutes at least going forwards we looked a threat with Miller’s link play.
