Can we be-a-tad little shellfish and make this the U-turn of the season? Colchester United Away 19th Sep 2020 15:00pm

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Agreed plus fonz is working hard defensively as well. Think that will help Gordon - he looked rapid then when we broke forward. More of that!

Crawford’s been disappointing. Happy with the rest of it - get Gordon overlapping or at least looking forwards!
Crawford and Doyle for me look the two Id expect to do better.

This is better. In other news, the officials at this levels are diabolical.

He let the game go then a Colchester player shouted at him so he gave a free kick and booked Comley.

Unacceptable in just about every level. I said that we looked abysmal on set pieces and that was beyond abysmal.

In competitive matches when was the last time we even lead a game of football?

Delfouneso appears to have turned into Johan Cruyff.

Last game of last season, twice (and twice pegged back).

Before that, New Year's Day - 2-0 up at home and lost 4-3.

Do you know I was going to say win lose or draw we look a lot better today, work in progress etc...but that big feck* dozy prick does it again. I can’t think of a centre half who has had as bad a start to his career here since Gerald cid. Here’s hoping Santos retires at half time!

As has been said, the goal was again Santos' fault for just falling asleep.

Passing is sloppy and slow and the players are always 5-10 yards out of position to receive the ball - but it's still better.

Don't get me wrong, unless we improve another 40-50% we'll never win a game of football this season; but still.

Once again awful/non existent defending at a simple set piece. As Santos is from Portugal can we quarantine him for the season?
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion

I’d have him put down. We have enough centre halves to never pick him again. Every game he’s played he’s switched off at key points.

This has been on my mind all week:
In case you can't see it (Bruce), it's a Victorian phrase for a lazy man: "He was born a bit tired."

Actually I don't think Santos is necessarily lazy. He just can't concentrate. I mean, not following a runner after a turnover in possession leads to a counter-attack is one thing - a Very Bad Thing if you're a defender playing in a team where you're expected to get forward.

But just letting your man wander away from you at a CORNER... well, I don't often go in for language like "inexcusable" and "schoolboy" - others can, that's fine, you pays your money etc - but I, as a professional man of words, find it hard to describe it any other way. Oh, here's one word that's popped in: "Unprofessional." If you are a centre-back, at a corner, and you let the man you're marking run away from you, you literally haven't done your job.

You know what, it's that poor that I think even Zouma, who's another badly-wrapped accident, wouldn't have done it. That might be knee-jerk, but that's the way I feel right now. Because that might be our best half so far, with a new formation, and it looked promising - but if you can't defend corners, you can forget about *staying* up, let alone *going* up.

Delighted with that. They got the one I predicted. Now just for our two.
