We're definitely the better team here, but we need to make it count.

I can sympathise with this reading. Not a lack of effort, I don't think, just knowing what to do.

If I were watching this game without knowing the table - or, crucially, being emotionally involved - I would not see it as 1st v 20th. But whatever.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 3:38 pmThey’ve conceded 4 goals thus far. I suspect you don’t need to look much beyond that to see why they are doing well. And in fairness we don’t look like putting many past them either.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 3:31 pmI assume Cambridge have played much better than this because while disaster never strays far from our door, they've hardly looked like league leaders

Get the point but they look hard to score against. I remember a few Bolton sides like that suspect people said similar when watching us.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 3:41 pmIf I were watching this game without knowing the table - or, crucially, being emotionally involved - I would not see it as 1st v 20th. Agreed I think we’re the better team if anything. Saying that that was close!

Still nerve racking when Baptiste steps out as he's taking ages to recover. The shape is lost on the right when he does.

He is putting a shift in. Agree. People seem to want him defending deep whilst at the same time being upfront spearheading when we attack, attack down the middle, when we're largely playing down the flanks. He's played some decent balls today.

I'd take 0-0 before the game, but it looks winnable.

Lovely link up play there.
Sarc, Doyle and then Fonz shoots wide.

Always interesting to see who forgets to run off until they see their mates. Fonz today.

Absolutely 100% better.
Effort making all the difference.
Could have been 2 up however both keepers not really tested.

Felt like I could actually see what Evatts trying to do today. I'm happy with that half. Crawford's been fine for me. I do like Delfounso though.

Good half and I think if we get the first goal we win.
Brockbank in that position is an issue for me, though. I really like the lad and he's certainly got a place in the team, just not up the field on the left.

I've only been able to watch the last ten minutes of the first half due to a poor internet connection, and during that period they put a couple of dangerous crosses into our penalty area. It's good to hear that that hasn't been typical of the half, though.

I was thinking he'd done very well there, considering he's a right-footed centre-back. Getting involved rather than making up the numbers.
Whether we'd be better with someone who could beat a man and cross it is another thought entirely.

Re: Cam v Croal a Punting Challenge: League 2, Cambridge v Bolton (A) Saturday October 24 14:00
The difficulty is that Gordon is currently susceptible to leaving his man free when defending, and isn't getting in position to put crosses in further forward either. I can't comment on Mascoll but Evatt clearly doesn't trust him yet.
Re: Cam v Croal a Punting Challenge: League 2, Cambridge v Bolton (A) Saturday October 24 14:00
He's been fine, but by having him there we're effectively ruling out a corner of the pitch. He immediately cuts back in as soon as he receives it and we then have to play through the middle. We've done this reasonably successfully a few times, but the absence of unpredictability makes it so much easier for the opposing defenders.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 3:56 pmI was thinking he'd done very well there, considering he's a right-footed centre-back. Certainly light years better thus far. Midfield still an issue for me. More power in there needed.
