Just sent 3 excited children in for Christmas lunch and jumper day at school and remembering with fondness my own primary school Christmas’. It’s not the same this year, No nativity play, carols, Christmas cards, no bringing in board games but the teacher at school have been doing their best to make it as fun as possible, all ‘Work’ is Christmas themed, they’ve been making stuff to decorate the classroom, popcorn treats in front of a film etc. Anyone else remember those last few days of autumn term as a kid at school before the holidays when Christmas was pretty much all you thought about?
I can barely remember last week let alone the best part of 40 years ago

Only because owning a supermarket means Christmas is a bloody nightmare and therefore deeply unexciting :D

Very much so. Christmas dinner on the last day and a visit from Father Christmas, who bore a striking resemblance to Mr Mulholland, the school caretaker! 🤔 He was dragged into the school hall on his ‘sleigh’, which looked suspiciously like the trolley he used to ferry stuff around school the rest of the year, but with a bit of tinsel on the handle. Going up for a present was always exciting. Great memories of simpler times.

Unfortunately the postage probably wipes much of the savings out 🙁 now, if you're into cheese then we're definitely the place to come. We stock circa 150 cheeses, probably more if you include 'supermarket cheddars' 🛒🧀😃

Got a last swim in before the pools shut from tomorrow.

Cans in, chili about be put on the go, then going to drink until I'm blind.

What an unremittingly shit year.

Given the mutations of the new strain are on the protein the vaccine targets (or at least seem to be) I will be a lot happier when we see some solid data showing the vaccine is effective against the new strain still.

Too late - you'll already be an automaton controlled by the evil empire of Bill Gates. Every morning when you open your eyes that Windows XP tune will play in your head and you'll campaign for a shift to 4-4-2 ;)
