Think they've edged that first half, but not much in it, we've had chances too. All looks a bit disjointed.

Hickman can defend better than Isgrove and cross better than him too. Makes no sense.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 3:45 pmUtterly bemused Hickman can’t even get on the bench.

Has to be disciplinary.
I think I’d leave Santos and Greenidge with Brockbank and Jones at full back. Isgrove on the right Thomason on the left.

Very disjoined, but personally I thought that they shaded it.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 3:53 pmThink they've edged that first half, but not much in it, we've had chances too. All looks a bit disjointed.
We just don't seem to improve game after game, week after week and for a manager who loves this system in which wing backs are so important we don't have a decent one in the squad (apart from possibly Koiso who isn't ours).
They will win this 2-0

Any reason to think that?

The bench is pretty uninspiring. Be nice if Crawford or Darcy are up for it but other than that...
Delaney might make sense if we go to a back four.

I would bring Crawford on 2nd half.

Jones LB and Brockers RB I'd guess.

I respect Steve Eyre's opinion, but I can't agree we have the players better suited to playing football on the evidence so far. They've been the best team, for me.
I can't get rid of the feeling that we should be much better than we're showing (again).

We miss Kioso massively as well.

I think this is winnable- they are decent enough but not the best team we’ve played by a long shot.

A reasonable reshuffle of personnel but it would worry me for various reasons.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 3:57 pmI think I’d leave Santos and Greenidge with Brockbank and Jones at full back. Isgrove on the right Thomason on the left.
Firstly, some of our best moves have come from centre-backs pushing on.
Secondly, it would maroon our best passer (Tomo) wide left.
Thirdly, it would force our neat and tidy anchorman (Tutte) into a more general role which would be easier to bypass.
Fourthly, it wouldn't necessarily improve penetration as Tomo isn't a winger.
Fifthly, it sounds obvious but we'd be going from having three defenders to four defenders – Jones has struggled to penetrate from WB so he wouldn't have a hope from LB. Same for Brocky out right.
Sixthly, they seem to me to be playing quite narrow and would therefore overpower our depleted centre.
We might, at some point, be able to play a 4-4-2 but (1) I doubt it and (2) it would need new players, like the back three does.

He could be one of the few who has asked to move on in January. I can't remember hearing or reading anything that he's up to no good.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 4:00 pmThere’s 3 centre halves on the bench!

I thought that when he said it too. We might have the best striker but there's nothing in the table, in recent form or on the pitch to suggest we've better players.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 4:01 pmI respect Steve Eyre's opinion, but I can't agree we have the players better suited to playing football on the evidence so far. Did Crawley just run in from the bus in the car park?

He might have asked for first-team football to improve himself, but I doubt he's deprammed the toys. Lad was unemployable eight months ago. We're his best bet - but he might need to prove himself elsewhere.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 4:05 pmHe could be one of the few who has asked to move on in January. Did same first half, which surprised Iles. Maybe they had a Spinal Tap moment...

That's two shots in this game that have gone for a throw, and another off the corner flag for a goal kick.
