At what point does rainfall become a downpour?

I'm in Salford, it's raining, but not very heavily.

Not a good sign! If the weather we have is coming your way it. Is. Shit. Not stopped raining all day and I got up at 6 to watch the test match.

I know we’ve only seen pics and short videos but that decision seems vaguely ridiculous on evidence seen...,

If it was doubtful why didn’t they flip it to our ground? It’s not like there is a home advantage is there?

Oh and they could play it when we are supposed to be playing Mansfield rather than pretending that shower have a chance of getting a home game on before March. End up like rugby league this and they will turn it into a summer sport!

In historical terms, yes, especially for anyone who's been watching The Big Match Revisited on ITV4 when most of the pitches resemble Southport beach or a Black Hill bog...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:05 pmI know we’ve only seen pics and short videos but that decision seems vaguely ridiculous on evidence seen...,
But those were different times. While some of the pitch is eminently playable there's a sticky patch either side of halfway, and sometimes having a varied surface like that is more dangerous. Either way, I'm rarely disgusted when referees, in concert with both managers, decide that a playing surface is unsafe. We could do without Doyle doing his ligaments.
On the bright side, by Tuesday we're gonna be two and a half weeks unbeaten...

The bit about home advantage. They're 6th in the Home game table and 12th in the Away. They might see that as advantage. Strangely enough we're 18th or so at home and 13th away...officer_dibble wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:09 pmIf it was doubtful why didn’t they flip it to our ground? I feared as much once I saw the weather forecast for the rest of the day. We'll be left with quite a fixture build up now.

We’d not have played a game between November and March some years at Burnden...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:13 pmIn historical terms, yes, especially for anyone who's been watching The Big Match Revisited on ITV4 when most of the pitches resemble Southport beach or a Black Hill bog...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:05 pmI know we’ve only seen pics and short videos but that decision seems vaguely ridiculous on evidence seen...,

I get the safety thing but I bet you we will be asked to play on far less safe pitches.

Yep, and Nat headed five-stone wet leather balls... as I say, those days have gone.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:19 pmWe’d not have played a game between November and March some years at Burnden...
Evidently not, at this rate...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 2:19 pmI get the safety thing but I bet you we will be asked to play on far less safe pitches.
More seriously, I suspect there will be something of a pile-up at the end of the season for some teams, given postponements from the entirely unforeseeable events of "pandemic" and "winter" - but in our case I can still see six free midweeks after this run of scheduled games.
