Re: The athletics/running thread
Think they realised they f*ck up your back so recommend crunches instead now.
I did the squats today at the end of a 15 mins out and then 14.15 back (I think there's a name for that but..) would've been just over 6k. Involved 2 laps around the Emirates. Very quiet.

O levels and 16+ The latter was relatively short lived iirc.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 10:40 pmWeren’t they O-levels in your day?!Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 10:17 pmThey’ve changed the bloody rules in that case! After a few weeks feeling shite, managed 3k yesterday and 4k today, so far.
After a YouTube tutorial I’ve discovered that I’ve been doing sit ups wrong, for all of my life. Well, when I say ‘doing’ what I really mean is I had the wrong idea of what one is. I’d always thought your legs were supposed to be flat to the ground and you raised your torso, so that your elbows came up to your knees. Either that, or they’ve made them easier by allowing you to bend your knees!
25 squats, 10 sit ups and 10 crunches (with Miss BP say on my feet ) . Done! I’m not going to be able to move tomorrow!
I also did do a 23 hour shift down t’pit, before walking mi whippet!

I just know it as an 'Out and Back' strangely. But yes, the objective is to run out for 21minutes at a certain pace and try and get back in 20. Or variations thereofLeverEnd wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 10:49 amNeeding a dump?Prufrock wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 11:14 pmThink they realised they f*ck up your back so recommend crunches instead now.

Done mine. Commandeered the mat after helping my daughter practice her backwards walkover. Perhaps backwards walkovers could be next months ‘challenge’?

Day two in the books. Tried my track session but the hammy still not a fan of faster paces. Hopefully the squats will help.

There’s more chance of me walking on the moon than doing that! I’ll be happy to watch you try though.

Not as flexible as I used to be sadly! Though I can still put my palms of my hands on the floor with ease with straight legs!
